This project has evolved somewhat since I embarked on it a few weeks ago. Initially I was hoping to create a single cohesive Clone Wars film that would fit between Episodes II & III and would answer the main questions of who created the Clone army, what happens to Ahsoka, what is the nature of the Anakin/Padme relationship, and why doesn’t Anakin trust the Jedi.

This turned out to be too much and so I’ve moved to making a trilogy that tries to meet those stated goals of ensuring that the questions raised in the prequel films are answered by the time ROTS has ended.

So the first film, which is fairly close to completion will consist of:

Crawl:

The Clone Wars

Like fire across the galaxy, the Clone Wars spread.
As more and more planets choose to join
Count Dooku’s Separatists it falls upon
the Jedi Knights to lead the newly formed
ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC.

While the Jedi are occupied fighting a war,
no one is left to keep the peace. Chaos and
crime spread, and the innocent become victims
in a lawless galaxy.

As the heat of war grows, so too grows the
prowess of the Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker.
To prevent him from reaching his full potential
the Sith send the assassin Asajj Ventress to
strike down the young Jedi….

Anakin vs Ventress/Knighting Ceremony from 2003 Clone Wars
The Hidden Enemy(with the Clone arc cut)
Bombad Jedi(edited so that Padme is the sole hero)
The Movie (Christophsis battle/agreeing to train Ahsoka)
Senate Spy and Cloak of Darkness cut together
Landing at Point Rain/Weapons Factory/Legacy of Terror/Brain Invader (brain worms cut)
The film ends after the capture of Poggle and the burying of the Queen.
The scene where Sidious orders Dooku to kill Ventress plays after the credits.

Film 2 will (hopefully) consist of:
The opening battle of Nightsister
Pursuit of Peace/Senate Murders
The Citadel episodes
Overlords
and the Zygerian Slavery arc
Ventress waking up in the wreckage is End Credits scene
 

Film 3:
Onderon arc
Rise of Clovis Arc
Yoda’s mission
The Wrong Jedi arc
Dooku ordering Greivious to prepare his attack as End Credits scene.
 

The hardest thing about these edits is transitioning from one arc to the next because so much of the setup for episodes is relayed through the Narration rather than dialogue.
But that’s what I’ve got so far.

I really like the idea of putting Holdo/TLJ ships in TFA.

One thing I’m curious about with this restructure that moves the Leia/Resistance stuff to later is the scene where Snoke gets mad at Ren for losing to Rey. I think that needs to be the first scene of the restructure because it is a direct follow up to the scene in TFA where Snoke told Hux to bring him Kylo Ren so he can finish his training.

This way when Anakin complains that there are thing they are not telling him it doesn’t completely come out of nowhere.

I’m curious about this and making Yoda feel more OT/ST in behavior. I particularly like that idea. Makes me want a good puppet replacement for the films.

Yeah. I’m hoping JJ does something, but Kathleen already said Carrie won’t be in the film, so idk how they’ll satisfyingly close it out without her.

My understanding is that it is a map based on Luke’s last known locations, and that data was split between what the Church of the Force knew and what the empire knew.

EFIT: So I thought that the crawl could be edited to remove references to a map and instead say that the old ally has data on Luke’s last known location. We could infer then that BB-8 isn’t carrying a map, but that data, which is only being called a map cus it’s easier?
Idk.

I know 😕. I love her last scene with Rey, but since Lucasfilm is not putting her in IX, something has to change. Imo

Would it be possible to make Leia do the suicide run with Holdo?

This looks great. TCW is my fave part of canon, so a complient ROTS sounds great.

I think it might be. I’m gonna be seeing it again soon, so we’ll see. One thing though. Would you include Ben declaring that he is the Supreme Leader and Rey leaving the ship/meeting up with Leia?

Ok, cus I was thinking of it wasn’t a metaphorical thing that maybe adding a VO of Han once or twice in the film could be neat.

One thing I was wondering after seeing the film is whether or not Luke’s line “if you strike me down in anger, I will always be with you. Just like your father.” was meant to imply that Ben is literally being haunted by the voice/image/presence of Han. Only because that line was so much like Kenobi’s line which resulted in him literally becoming a ghost.

I was, mostly because I was just curious about that scene’s placement.

These ideas, and your work ups are excellent. I particularly like the Rey dream, reordering the sequence of events leading to Rey & Finn meeting, moving the Vader prayer and splitting the interrogation/escape.

I look forward to what other ideas you have!

For the possible message from the republic, could any of the Jakku Message scene be used?

Also I am curious if you were to reinsert the “Tunnel Standoff” scene where would you put it?
