I grow weary of people taking the piss out of David Prowse’s on set delivery. He was wearing a mask so he had to yell for the other actors to catch their cues. He knew the voice would be recorded in post production but was led to believe he would be doing it. He was an actor. If given the task he wouldn’t have performed it in his own Bristol accent. Would it be as good as JEJ, doubtful, but it wouldn’t have been the same voice he used on set. Anthony Daniels also knew his lines would be rerecorded so he too used his natural voice. Lucas intended Threepio to sound like a used car salesman but when he heard Daniels on set voice he called him back to exaggerate that performance and Threepio became a fussy butler instead. Despite the crappy way Lucas treated Prowse (and the other Darth, Peter Serafinowicz) Prowse and JEJ both praised eachother and he did a lot of charity work before his death. But yeah it would be funny. Artoo was originally going to speak English too.

You could call me out directly, no need to beat around the bush. I thought this post was just for comedy reasons. If you feel I’ve gone too far then, I’m sorry. Hope there is no bad blood between us

Nah bad blood. I am just annoyed by the prevalence of the Darth Farmer thing. Someone made a video where fans in the biz took Prowse to a sound booth and recorded him giving an actual Vader performance and did all the post production filtering and it was good. As iconic as JEJ…? probably not. If it had been there in 1977 we wouldnt know that though. I wish I could find that video

Darth Farmer? Filtering is a good idea for Vader’s voice. If they decided to stick with Prowse

Anjohan's The Rings of Power - The Film Cut [FINISHED VERSION]
Time

Good question. There’s a lot that matches between my edit and this one. Anjohan and I actually went back and forth contributing ideas to each other in PMs while creating/fine-tuning our edits.

Anjohan’s edit set itself apart early by being very tightly focused. His opening prologue, for instance, was amazing, and mine is very closely modeled after it. My use of a Sauron vision to open the second film and direct Galadriel toward Eregion is also directly lifted from something Anjohan did.

Overall, Anjohan’s edit has evolved to experiment with/solve the story in more radical ways than mine has. For example, in the current version, I believe he has moved the creation of the three Elven rings to the prologue of the story, with the intent of making them less tied to Sauron and more in line with the books.

My edit, meanwhile, maintains more of the vanilla storyline, but with more of a focus on chronology/trying to line up day/night cycles and keeping plot threads feeling in-synch, even if they technically aren’t. I also keep the Harfoot story as a main thread (even the heart of the series), where almost every other edit reduces them significantly as a grudging side story.

“Less tied to Sauron” he was after the rings of power of I’m not mistaken. I know he obviously had the nine rings, didn’t he also have all dwarf rings as well?

So your edit differs by keeping the same but in a more chronological set? 😯

Well… good news and bad news. I’ve got my new pc built and it’s awesome but I did end up losing all my project files. It’s no big deal it just means it’ll take a bit longer before I get back to refreshing the S1 finale and S2 episodes. The project is pretty near completion so it shouldn’t be too big of a setback!

From what I’ve watched gOOb, it’s worth the wait!

Do you keep all versions of the files or just the updated ones?

I only hold onto the most current versions. It’d take up too much space if I kept them all! Haha

Hahaha that makes sense. So what versions are you currently/eventually working on?

I’ll be working on the V4 for the final arc. Which even if I lose the project file is fine and will still release with no issues!

After that I’ve got a nearly completed s3 episode to rerelease with brand new animation and new darksaber lore to make this series blend easily into AcBagels the Way of Mandalore edits!

That’s really groovy 😎

Hi Acbagel, great project!

I have a question, if it has come up before then I apologize 😃 Are you planning to release this project in native 4K?

Almost all the source material has already appeared on Blu-ray (From what I recall, The Book of Boba Fett is due for release sometime this year). Somewhere I saw a comparison of the D+ version with the one on Blu-ray for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and gee, there’s a difference 😉

Thanks! Books 1-4 will not be re-released in native 4k, Books 5-6 are in native 4k.

Just wanted to say I’ve watched the first two books so far and think it’s fantastic! You did a great job. I was wondering if I could also get your Bad Batch episode 0? I’ve heard good things.

Thanks Zeb, glad you’re having a good time with it! Sure, I’ll DM you about TBB.

I thought your Bad Batch 0 was sheleved. Is it complete?

The Clone Wars: Refocused [COMPLETE] + bonus Quinlan Vos episode by g00b!

EddieDean said:

Ahh, I see. I’m sure it’s fairly compatible- I’ve cut the one explicit reference I’m aware of, and removed things like Palpatine being Sidious.

But persoally I fall rather staunchly in the other camp- I feel like trying to dam the river of canon at any point is rather futile, and that instead we should just be placing rocks in the stream, improvements around which the shared canon can still freely flow.

And I don’t think there’s a human on Earth who doesn’t know that Anakin is Vader- and if they don’t, then Original Trilogy followed by everything chronologically remains a great introductory order.

Plus, Clone Wars kind of comes at this from the opposite of Adywan’s intention anyway- it does a lot to develop Anakin’s character towards what we know of Vader, arguably better than the prequel movies.

Either way, a fine suggestion, and one that I think this edit serves perfectly well.

I really appreciate your answer, thank you for humoring me; your answer makes sense. I think these days I’m just struggling between the lines of canon and just watching it for fun. I need to loosen up

Does your edit include Palpantine’s capture from the first Clone Wars TV show?

EddieDean first off thank you for editing the clone wars. I have a ridiculous question to ask, forgive me for wearing a dunce hat and explaining it poorly

On the first page where you explain a guide on the episodes and their relevance; the “WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?” section. Have you ever thought of doing one that follows adywan’s vision? I’m sorry I know it’s a ridiculous question.
