I read in a book some time ago that 24 fps was decided on as the result of a variety of different tests- it was determined that it produced smooth motion but being slightly under 30 the strobing effect put the audience into an altered state. After lots of tests done at a variety of different frame rates, it was determined that 24/25 was the best format for narrative stories.
If I recall correctly another reason was the introduction of sound. That's whty the big switch happened between 1928 and 1930. With soundtracks on shellac records you had to sync 78 rpm to 24 fps (and it'd go out of sync because of missing frames), and with sound on film it was a good compromise between speed (cost) and sound quality. Obviously it's like magnetic tape, the faster it is, the more fidelity you can get out of an optical recording.

Warb, I think wd made a very reasonable argument. I think everybody understood what he meant, there was no need to spell it out. But I will do that, cause I'm the self appointed dispenser-of-things-that-are-obvious.
Basically what he meant was:
If it was true, your money was going to a good cause.
If it was a lie, justice would have been done anyway, plus your conscience would have been clean, cause you'd done your part in doing something good for your neighbour (in principle). Now, I believe this hold true for anybody, not just christians. I, for one, agree with that. WD was just trying to appeal to your religious sensibility to make things easier for you. But you seem to have a reputation for being easily offended. And these posts of yours really don't help your reputation.
My two cents.
A humble word of advice, if you'll accept it: don't always jump right into conclusions, try and control your temper, and show respect towards your neighbour, cause he respects you.

Great. I wished I had saved the settings, now I feel like an idiot. I can't even try to recreate it cause right now it's giving me a weird error, no matter what setting I use I get a lot of unwanted clicks, despite having worked perfectly til last night. Well, from what I can remember the settings were these:
If you do wanna add the white noise in the background (don't make it too loud) mix it in after the ringmod, but before the bandpass, or it won't sound right.
