No i actually have the original dialogue that i obtained from the CD i posted an Amazon link of. I simply need someone to dub it back into the  film.

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. I thought that disc was music-only.

Well, then, it's simple audio editing, it'll be a cinch!

Is there a lot of hiss/scratches? I'd love to give it a try, and to finally hear that line the way it was.

Good thing the original soundtrack is actually available, even if you have to hunt for it.

I've looked into this several times in the past. It seems one should look for a copy of the cartoon without the revised audio. I'm thinking maybe a copy could have made it to a european country with the habit of subtitling english movies rather than dubbing them, say like the Nederlands. In that case the audio track would be intact, but you'd have to look through hundreds of 8mm collectors.

If I understand correctly, what you're proposing is for somebody here to dub the line back in, that is, to re-record it from scratch? That wouldn't be the original though. Also, even if you find someone that can approximate a decent Billy Bletcher impression while doing a stereotypical jewish accent... let's be honest some would find that.... eehhhhhhh.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

It's not just the instant preview, there's software now that can interpolate through all the frames and stabilize the sequence. I've seen it done on a stop motion 360° of a real life fountain, whatever software they used, smoothed out the bumps from the camera moving along the irregular pavement. I wish I could find the video.

For Ep.7, people will be too busy tweeing "OH-M-GEE! The Movee is startin! Gonna b tha best eva!! YOLO! LMFAO!!" to even know what the opening logos look like.

This, a thousand times this. I don't even go to the movie theather anymore (actually you could count the times I've been on a couple of hands - let's include toes, tops) but from what I'm told people do anything but watch the screen now. People have always slept, and we all know what goes on in the last row, where all you can hear is slug sounds, but apparently now the whole place is lit up with the glow of smartphones and resounds with loud chatter and babble.

So just put on a slideshow accompanied by a radio play. It'll cost less and not many people will notice.

Preserving the "Italian" Original Trilogy (Released)

Hi. I just started a new thread (http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Star-Wars-Despecialized-Edition-The-International-Blu-ray-Project/topic/16467/). My goal is to bring together all the foreign preservations together on a same disc to give all non native English speakers like me a choice between the original version and the version they grew up with. Would you be OK for me to use footage from your version (namely: the Opening and ending credits and the Greedo bit), giving you credit for it of course.

Thanks in advance.

An interesting project for sure, if you can pull off seamless branching on an AVCHD disk.

Just one caveat: I would give you the uncompressed files if I had them, but I lost everything in a hard drive crash. And I recently came to the realization that I used the wrong logo for the opening titles, despite Laserschwert giving me the correct one!

So I'm going to eventually make a 2.0 of this italian project, to perfect those sequences, correct everything I've missed, and to add a new soundtrack from vhs. Until then, I hope you're not in a hurry, because I'm gonna have to put the kibosh on it.
