THX 1138 "preservations" + the 'THX 1138 Italian Cut' project (Released)
Time

I've tried improving the video quality on VirtualDub, using the filters MSU Smart Deblocking and MSU Cartoon Restore (the old version, the beta will crash virtualdub)

I have used these settings:

VirtualDub.audio.SetSource(0);

VirtualDub.audio.SetMode(0);

VirtualDub.audio.SetInterleave(1,500,1,0,0);

VirtualDub.audio.SetClipMode(1,1);

VirtualDub.audio.SetConversion(0,0,0,0,0);

VirtualDub.audio.SetVolume();

VirtualDub.audio.SetCompression();

VirtualDub.audio.EnableFilterGraph(0);

VirtualDub.video.SetInputFormat(0);

VirtualDub.video.SetOutputFormat(7);

VirtualDub.video.SetMode(3);

VirtualDub.video.SetSmartRendering(0);

VirtualDub.video.SetPreserveEmptyFrames(0);

VirtualDub.video.SetFrameRate2(0,0,1);

VirtualDub.video.SetIVTC(0, 0, 0, 0);

VirtualDub.video.SetCompression();

VirtualDub.video.filters.Clear();

VirtualDub.video.filters.Add("MSU Smart Deblocking 0.8");

VirtualDub.video.filters.instance[0].Config(1,1,1,1);

VirtualDub.video.filters.Add("MSU Cartoon Restore 1.3");

VirtualDub.video.filters.instance[1].Config("bilateral", 1, 5, 0);

VirtualDub.audio.filters.Clear();

copy this into a txt file, then rename it as a vcf and load it into virtualdub

using my settings the above frame (30272) comes out like this:

what do you guys think?

Last movie seen

Saw "Steambot Bill Jr." tonight with a live audience. I had seen the film already on youtube (in better quality, I might add, cause this version came from a dvd which in turn came from a vhs, and a carpy one at that), but it's one thing to see it online and another thing to see it and hear the laughter of people around you.

Apart from the video quality that was shit, the music: it was a live jazz trio, I'm not saying it was bad, they were terrific, but I expected something more... well, let's say traditional, instead of what they played, that sounded like it belonged in "Metropolis" and not in a Buster Keaton comedy.

Video Games - a general discussion thread

Utterly wrecked my vocal cords (not to mention the songs) trying to keep up with the range shifts on Ultravox's Vienna

oooohh I never tried to sing Vienna while spiffed. must be real hard! I did once sing almost the entire volume 1 of Queen's greatest hits while under the influence of half a bottle of rum.

why don't we have a thread called "drunk experiences"? oh, well, I figure I'll just make one next time I'm intoxicated.

on the other hand, I don't enjoy playing video games while drunk, it takes away the fun. the first challenge becomes trying to get a hold of the controller!

wow, imagine playing kinect while drunk!!
