I think what Frink wanted to hear was,

Damn straight!
I knew it, I wasn't hearing things!
I'm not crazy! :)
Isn't it neat? (The scream I mean, not the fact that I'm not cuckoo. :P)
We actually get to hear those voices cry out in terror and get suddenly silenced.
And after all, the Sahara wasn't always a desert. You could have vegetation and real farms on old Tatooine.
Lemme guess.. it's round and black and full of liquid stuff, isn't it?
I wonder if anyone has the solution to my inquiry in post 535. It's been bugging me for a while.
"as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced"
I wonder if I'm the first to notice this, or if my ears are playing tricks on me or what... In Star Wars, when the Death Star blows up Alderaan, pay attention to the sound just before the explosion. Doesn't it sound like a scream, cut off in mid just as the planet explodes?
I first noticed it when listening to the mono mix, and I'm pretty sure it's in all the others, too.
Is this real or is it just me? Has anyone pointed it out before?
I'm almost done with the crawl, Puggo, the bigger part of the job is trying to sync it with the english one. I've gotten the "Guerre Stellari" logo to recede at the correct speed, but the main text is still all over the place. Should I make a thread for this, so we don't bring Harmy's off topic?
After seeing all the positive comments about your work, I couldn't resist any longer, freed some space on my hard drive and dl'd your DeEd. And it truly is fantastic, Harmy, excellent job!

Hey Harmy,
I really love your Despecializations! Since I'm German I want to create versions with the German crawls and German subs for Greedo and Jabba. Are there HDTV-versions of the subtitled scenes, but without the subs? Or did the subtitles look like that in the HD broadcasts? I'd like to re-create the German subs as they look in the US version, but I'd need clean versions of those scenes for that...
The next hurdle will be multi-angle / seamless branching or some other trick to allow choosing between the English and the German crawls and subs (and Adobe Encore, which I'm using, doesn't support either feature). Well, at least the subs COULD be realized through actual Blu-ray subtitles... but for that, again, I need clean versions of those scenes.
Otherwise the new Blu-rays might provide the solutions...
I'm doing something similar, I'm trying to recreate the italian crawl in HD, episode-less, and then I'd need the Greedo scene without hard-subs, to make my own. But then, how to incorporate them in the movie, without having to re-encode? I'm pretty much clueless about HD and blu-rays and whatnot...

He's a mocker.
(good thing nobody answered it before me, I've been wanting to do that for years! :p)
Congratulations, Anchorhead, I'm sure you'll bee a great moderator! If there's a disagreement, you just release the dogs, or the bees, or the dogs with bees in their mouths and when they'll bark they'll shoot bees at us.
(ok I'm done, I'll get my hat)
ayyyyyyy
Would "stolen" puns work too?

...And don't you ever talk bad about a synthesizer ever again. The Mellotron creates some of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard.
I know I'm being pedant, but the Mellotron wasn't a synthesizer, it didn't have oscillators, it was more like a series of tape machines each one hooked to a key.

mmmmm... Nutella... *drools*
oh thanks a lot TK-949, now I've got another one of my trademark cravings!
seriously, I can't wait til the temperature here drops down enough that I can buy a bar of chocolate without having it melt in my hands in 3 seconds...
I'm going with the obvious choice
PM sent :)
So, I recently found this little thing I did ages ago that I thought was lost forever, but turns out it wasn't. And I thought about your edit, Frink. Could you possibly be interested in an "a cappella" rendition of the 20th Century Fox Fanfare? Does this sound ridiculous enough to you?
Alternatively I could modify it into having Ric Olié singing the Cinemascope Extension ("Look over theeeeere, look over theeeeere, look over theeeeeeere!!")

careful, I might turn this thread into a Homer Simpson quote thread

If this was the case, think of how different this place would be. We'd be debating which public scanning crew had the best print but maybe not the greatest scanning facility, should they be scanning the IBA print or the 70mm print, or the recently unearthed print which never got screened. We'd be learning about the real world audio visual aspects of converting these films instead of relying on third hand opinions tainted by creator exhuberance. We'd actually be able to compare and contrast original and SE prints, instead of abstract suppositions, and crappy bootlegs and recreations tainted by technological and memory lapses. Another side would be pointing out how LFL needs some support or the deleted material would never see the light. The fan edit crews would be lobbying for position from the public scanning crews. Maybe even LFL would be contacting fan editors to give them advanced blu-ray copies so their versions would come out shortly after the official release. Fan Film makers would be stepping up pointing out "hey we can offer you new stories!"
Yeah, and try and paint such a picture to George or any copyright holder, and this would pretty much be their reaction:
