Thanks for the critique Harmy! :) Are these any better?
GOUT vs Colour Corrected

GOUT vs Colour Corrected
A sneak peak of my Technicolor Project ;)
GOUT vs Technicolorised GOUT
Sorry about the small image size but this is the only size Color will export at, well for me any way :(
Of the three uploads I have done so far Jedi was the one I was most confident about being a good complete upload. My newsreader reports that the other two have missing/incomplete files, where as with Jedi it reports it as complete. I should point out this is on a different computer to the one I use to upload.Chirtman said:
Awesome preservation thanks indeed to Lee.
I grabbed SW and ESB, watched them yesterday, but having trouble with Jedi.
For some reason rar part 5 is missing, is it just me ? So i can't unzip it as yet.
I thought he used the TB as the base for Empire?ChainsawAsh said:
Not sure if DJ did more post-processing to them, but he used the GKAR as a base for Jedi, and the Flunk as a base for Empire and ANH.
:O OMG WOW! These are REALLY REALLY COOL! Totally unexpected thank you so much AVP! :D
Rockin, Aluminum Falcon thank you for your kind words, the Surgery was last Wednesday and it went according to plan, I am on the mend and hope to be back to normal very soon! :)
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to ask about this ;) The project is basically my attempt at taking the G-Force enhanced GOUT and colour correcting/grading it to match the photos from the Senator Theatre Technicolor I.B. showing as much as is possible. I don't want to go into too much more detail as I intend to start a new thread once I have some screen shots to share with everyone. :)Aluminum Falcon said:
Also, what is the Theatrical Star Wars Trilogy in Technicolor Reproduction Project? It sounds fascinating. Is it an attempt to make the color timing of the original trilogy look closer to how it looked on the theatrical prints? If so, I'd be very interested in it. After all, the GOUT is very washed out... What are you going to use as the basis for it: the old theatrical bootlegs? Sorry for getting a bit off-topic. That project just sounds so darn exciting.
ROTJ from my '97 SE preservation is on its way up to the newsgroup it might take a little longer then before as I am uploading at a slower speed so I can still use the internet while I'm uploading. :)
I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but I did no colour correcting/calibration for the '97 SE preservation, so I can only assume these fluctuations are part of the LaserDisc presentation.Chewtobacca said:
There were some color fluctuations at various points, but this might have been in the source, and I didn't find them too distracting.
That preview looks great Dark Jedi! I do hope your bonus set finds its way to the newsgroup one day in the future. :)
Thanks for the compliment! :DChewtobacca said:
Looks good so far! The menu looks nice. The audio reads as 5.1. I'm really enjoying this. Great work! :-)
Thanks for the compliment! :D I didn't do anything with the colours of the '97 SE so if Mos Eisley is less pink that's how it is on the LaserDisc :)
link343 said:Just started to watch and WOW. You did a great job Lee! I've noticed that there isn't a pink tint to the Mos Eisley scenes. Did you do that, or is that just how the LD came?
Can't Wait for the other two discs!
Unfortunately the PAL set doesn't have a disc like that. I have already included the extra feature's included in the PAL set on each DVD of my preservation. :)
The Aluminum Falcon said:Although, forgive me for asking this as it may have already been asked, but are you going to preserve the '97 supplemental disc with all the interviews about the making of the Special Edition? This may be only with the NTSC set, though.
That's cheating! :p

Well, enough of the archive for recovery is available. I'll check the missing parts later and let you know, but everything seems fine. I can't wait to watch this, so I'll use the pars and recover this now. :-)
Thanks Chewtobacca! :) I'm sorry to say though it looks like my ISP may be throttling my connection as uploading has almost come to a complete halt :( its now saying it will take 7-8 hours to complete :(
Here are the screen shots that people have requested. First off is Jabba from my '97 SE preservation:
Next are the shots Moth3r uses on his website from the final encode of my THX preservation:
Next are some shots of inside the garage for msycamore showing the THX release has stable green lights behind the oil bath:
Finally here are the shots people requested from Return Of The Jedi (THX):
If anyone wants any shots from Empire just let me know and I will see what I can do. ;)
My news reader is telling me I have about an hour left to go on the uploading of ANH from my '97 SE preservation. I was wondering as this is my first upload to a news group if someone could download this and report back if its a good upload or not before I proceed to upload anything else. :)
Many Thanks
Not at all. :)link343 said:
Lee, do you mind if someone uploads these to a torrent site (i.e demonoid)?
I have started uploading my '97 SE Star Wars (ANH) to a.b.sw my ISP recently upped their upload speeds so hopefully this will be done in a day or two. I will then upload the rest of the '97 SE before moving onto the THX Coffret set.
Speaking of the THX Coffret set, I am just watching Jedi through now, assuming there are no problems that will be Jedi and the Coffret set as a whole complete YAY! :D
Those of you who have requested screen shots I will try and post them tomorrow. ;)
As I get closer to being ready to upload both the '97 SE and THX trilogies I was wondering, what would people prefer I upload first? I have a hunch more people are interested in the THX trilogy but I thought I would ask in case I was wrong. ;)
Unfortunately the softness of the image is a feature of the 1995 PAL release. :(
dark_jedi said:LOL, he probably wants to know if you encoded them in 16:9? and Lee the screens look nice, but a little to smooth\soft\blurry not sure what term to use, but a little to much of that for me.
This is correct I have converted the letterboxed 4:3 to anamorphic 16:9. :)
Moth3r said:However, it looks like he has upscaled this to convert to 16:9 anamorphic widescreen (the clue is that the screenshots are 1024 x 576 not 768 x 576).
I will see what I can do. ;)
msycamore said:Looks very nice, could you perhaps post some screen-caps of these shots? http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Star-Wars-Trilogy-Original-Theatrical-Versions-2006-DVD-Flaw-List/post/462787/#TopicPost462787
I'm curious if these French LD's have the same color issues. Also, could you check the asteroid chase in Empire, I'm interested to know if it have the blue colored TIE-lasers the '95 PAL-VHS had. Thanks.

lee, I thought this project was for the 97 special edition? Those screens look like the original version.
EDIT: read some of the past pages and got my answer. Could you post some screens from the Special Edition films? The Jabba scene from ANH would be nice.

Looks amazing.
Can I ask, have they been converted to true anamorphic widescreen Lee?
Cool! Thank you for including my release Moth3r! :D
As you say it's interesting to compare the 4 PAL releases although it has kinda got me worried comparing mine to the other three that I might have cropped off too much at the sides! I will have to check this when I get home.
Unfortunately I can't afford a properly calibrated monitor like what LFL use so I apologise if the colours are messed up. J/K
I intentionally included the "Look Sir! Droids" shot and the Mos Eisely drive by shot to show how little DVNR smear this release has. :D
Okay I know these aren't what you were expecting / asked for, but I further tweaked my calibration settings so ROTJ will need re-rendering. In the meantime however Star Wars has been re-rendered and re-authored with the latest calibration tweak so that one is 100% finished. :D
Enjoy
I don't think it helps when the only direction you get is "Faster, More Intense!"
