Jethro Tull

Added to the list of bands with sick flute playing

I don’t get it.

Weird rock band that had flute solos in rock songs.

I get that, I just don’t get what that has to do with this thread or anything that had been said prior to your post.

Perhaps he was referencing the similarity between “Jethro Tull” and “Jetrell Fo”?

And Songs from the Wood is great!

The intent was quite obvious but I chose to pass it by so the thread could keep moving.

I came in because you were taking a post I made and putting it in a context that made no sense. I don’t really care that much, I just can’t understand why you seem to.

Don’t be shy … you swing in like a bat out of hell every time, just own it. No one cares anyways.

Similarly there was a common refrain that Obama created ISIS, which was equally impossible given that it happened before Obama. Does that absolve him of any blame for ISIS-related failures? Not at all, just the creation of it.

If I’m not mistaken, this reference was about the ISIL state created inside Syria. Obama waited til Damascus was obliterated before doing anything. American tax payers forked out billions of dollars to weaponize resistance fighters, those resistance fighters turned against us and took all those toys with them to Syria. That is why the claim that Obama created ISIS was used by Trump.

He literally only mentioned your name in reference to the fact that he was ignoring you.

I can report your post^, if you want. It certainly qualifies for the things you mentioned - Frink vs. Fo, unwanted harassment.

And in like the wind, here comes Dom, LOL … there is no harassment in making a point silly. He says he doesn’t care anymore so why should you? Why should I? Why should warbler? Why should anybody care anymore right? I’ll tell you why, because he says no one cares anyways, I know I’ve said it before.

I just caught a moment of Harball and saw Chris Matthews criticizing Trump for taking a “blame everything on Obama” approach. Pretty sure he never criticized Obama for taking the “blame everything on Bush” approach for almost his entire presidency.

So true. Every President before the last one does the same damn thing. NO President in history has be 100% innocent or angelic in public OR private. Trump is apparently the only President to be the worst human being ever to grace the White House.

Added to my mental list:

  • Alderaan

since no one cares, I’m not gonna care either anymore. I enjoy myself a lot more when I ignore Fo so this should be no different.

For you, I’ll edit my post, leave me alone. No-one cares anyways so why bother telling people you enjoy yourself more because you’re ignoring me?

Enjoy yourself but leave ME alone.

Theater DTS Disc to .WAV, .AC3, etc?

Does anyone out there have any experience in converting true movie theater DTS discs to .WAV, .AC3 or similar formats?

I’ve searched the web and nobody seems to have a set solution. Many talk about converting consumer DTS discs, but not the REAL ones that come from theaters that use to accompany 35mm releases.

Do you have any discs that you are looking to have converted? It’s discussed in various places but not all of the methods are discussed openly for obvious reasons.

^ what Fo says makes a lot of sense - spending some time with them, sharing in their happiness may give you extra information, insight and empathy with the path they have chosen. And to be there for your brother in time of a big decision from him will hopefully bring you even closer together too - as well as his fiance.

Best wishes to you and your family Mike O 😃

I actually made sense? LOL Didn’t know I had it in me.

My prediction Corbyn will suprise everyone by narrowly winning with the remainers voting against the Conservatives with the same zeal that the Brexiteers voted for them.

After all the recent unexpected election results we’ve had, I could never rule that out but it’s still fantastically unlikely IMO. It’d be nice to get the Tories out but the best I’m hoping for is a loss by Labour that is just big enough to make Corbyn’s position untenable (then they can maybe elect a leader that’ll really challenge May’s government) but not so big that they are left powerless in parliament to reign in the Conservatives and unable to recover by the time the next election comes round.

I also really hope the next two months of debate do not consist entirely of journalists asking Labour politicians if they “REALLY believe they can win?”. Please discuss policies and let the electorate decide at the ballot box. Remember the last time when 80-90% of the debate was “Since the Tories obviously cannot win, who do we think they going to go into coalition with?”… and then they won.

Maybe it will be the media asking if they’ve asked President Trump to command Putin to intervene on their behalf to clinch their political positions?

😉

“It [fake news] affects both the right and the left. It affects educated and uneducated. So the stereotypes of it being simply right-wing and simply uneducated are 100% not true,” says Jeff Green, who is the CEO of Trade Desk, an internet advertising company that was recently commissioned by American TV channel CBS to investigate who is reading and sharing fake news online.

http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-39592010

I feel like that doesn’t even need to be said, but nonetheless I hear about these stereotypes from family at all times. More interestingly:

And the study revealed another disturbing trend: the more you consume fake news, the more likely you are to vote. It’s “fascinating and frightening at the same time,” says Green.

And also:

"People like to share information that makes them feel good, " she says.

Indeed.

I’ve been aware of this for some time. The problem lies in the fact that some folks just don’t want to listen to others, even if they are right, because it’s not them saying it or getting the attention for doing so.

It is very sad.

If your brother and his fiance are happy and excited, maybe sharing in their excitement would help focus you some. We don’t get to choose our family but we can choose our level of interaction with them based on our own place in it. Maybe spending some time visiting with them or just talking with them about their plan for the future will inspire you to reconsider which path you feel is best for you to take.

It couldn’t hurt anyways.

Starting tomorrow, I’m going to begin going for long walks, just like I used to years ago. I need to begin exercising regularly again, but using the exercise bike is boring and the treadmill works like shit. Since I have no other exercise equipment, walking it is.

Good on you Duracell, walking is a great way to get out, get some exercise, and focus your thoughts. I’ve been considering doing this recently too for stress relief as well as exercise.

[Jetrell Fo said:]

If this rule is that strict then I it should be evenly leveled, not just when it suits certain
members (mods and admin not included).

One cannot logically request protection from a rule they themselves and others have ignored and then using feigned innocence (due to the very specifically chosen verbiage they’ve used to try and mask it) when the claim is leveled against them. I mean no disrespect to you or anyone else. It is my opinion, that if any one member can have their cake and eat it too, then all members should be allowed the same courtesy. I am sorry if you don’t share this opinion.

This is why I left my locked thread locked. It’s a reminder to me, a reference point if you will, that shows a glimpse of the unapologetic atmosphere that goes unaffected by the same rule being cried about now.

Thank you to Possessed and Dek Rollins for their posts. I prefer reason over force and what they said was understandable and appreciated.

I just wanted my chance to respond. I will not be returning to this thread. You’re welcome.
