Jay, here's a suggestion for enhancement: there might be an occasion when you want to stop someone from sending you PMs, but still want to read their posts on the forum. This is not possible under the current setup - you have to ignore their posts if you want to select any other options.
I'll this to the list.

Follow up question - if a user has chosen to ignore PM's from me, will I be notified? Will I even be able to write the PM?
No notification. When you attempt to send the PM, you'll receive a message saying that the user has blocked you.
What happens depends on the options the user selected when they chose to ignore you. At its most basic level, ignoring a user hides their posts from view--all their posts, past and future. The post is replaced with a link that lets you view the post if you want to. However, if someone else quotes them, that quote is visible to you. There's no easy way of blocking that.
You also have the option of preventing them from sending you private messages, preventing them from viewing your profile, and preventing them from sending you e-mail via the user contact form (which isn't implemented yet).
The data for this to work is already present; I thought of it when I first started the forums years ago. I just never implemented the front end functionality. Shouldn't be too tough. I'll add it to the list.

I am pretty sure if I could figure out a way to take a brand new Nintendo DS loaded with an R4, homebrew, and a Metroid Fusion cartridge back in time to my young ten year old self, I'd be ruling the world today.
If you had access to that many games as a kid, I'm pretty sure the only thing you'd be ruling today is your mom's basement :)
stossmo, thanks for the heads up regarding the TRU sale. I'm checking it out now.
I posted updates last night to improve performance. Everything should look the same with a cache refresh. Some browsers are a bit more stubborn than others when it comes to updating their cache automatically (Safari especially).

I just got interested in good sound and I have a few questions.
- I just bought a pair of Grado SR-80i's what else do I need?
- Could I use my computer to listen to music? I have a netbook. A Acer Aspire One 751h. Will that make good sound?
- If I use a jailbroken app to play FLAC how well will it sound?
1. Get yourself a headphone amp, especially if you're going to be listening on your computer. Headphone jacks on computers aren't exactly loaded with amp power and they can be pretty noisy. The headphone amp will connect to your computer's cleaner line level output and provide the amplification. A good, cheap headphone amp that I use myself is one based on the CMOY design. You can usually find a few on ebay.
2. See #1.
3. Probably pretty good. All my music is stored on my Mac as 320kbps MP3s. If I'm being completely honest, I can't tell the difference between the MP3 and the original CD with my Sennheiser 595 headphones, and my friends call me "dog ears."
The point of the avatars is to make it easier to see who started the topic, and I'm not too fond of having mixed uses for the same interface element.
The avatar library was part of the old forum software. It's still on the list of features to add, but since 99% of users upload their own anyway, it seems like a waste of time right now when there are other things people would rather have.

You make a very interesting observation. NO ONE defended Vick a damn bit (except one other black football player, who then had to apologize, his name eludes me).
Could it be "sad old white jew who makes Oscar winning art" vs. "tough looking black guy from the projects who plays lowly sports" in the general perception and portrayal?
I think it's more likely that people are very quick to scream about animal cruelty, but cruelty towards other humans is just par for the course.
Removing matte lines only opens the door to other unnecessary "fixes."
Old films have flaws that reflect the times in which they were made. We shouldn't be going back and erasing these flaws to soothe our modern sensibilities. I want my grain, I want my matte lines, and I want my grey R2-D2 in the back of the X-Wing. Just leave it the hell alone.
Why?
Not being an ass. Honest question.
I think the community as a whole would immediately forgive George Lucas for all his transgressions--either real or perceived--if the theatrical cuts of the original trilogy showed up on Blu-ray with a proper restoration and clean 1080p transfer. Any anger towards him would completely dissipate (until somebody sees a lightsaber that's not quite as red as it should be, anyway).
I personally moved on from Star Wars a long time ago. There are too many good films out there that have received proper treatment to bother with something that kind of pisses me off whenever I watch it. Haven't watched any Star Wars anything in at least 3 years, actually.
I think that would make more sense in the specific project topic since you'd want to communicate your suggestions directly to the fan editor. Or are you talking about general suggestions meant for anybody?
What do you mean by "mockups"? Screenshots that have been altered to represent proposed changes? That sort of thing?
I appreciate you acting as my beta tester :)
I knew trying to integrate a plain text editor with a WYSIWYG editor simultaneously was going to be a nightmare :)
I'm going to look at this over the weekend, but you'll have to use the post editor for now. There are sophisticated regular expressions that parse through everything you submit to create the resulting post. Obviously, the expressions that handle plain text editing are broken.
Also, you can't submit HTML into the form whether you're using plain text or the post editor. All HTML is filtered so it doesn't render. If you're editing a post and the plain text editor doesn't convert the stored HTML into forum tags, submitting the HTML will make a mess of things.
We've added a separate category to house all fan artwork, including case covers, disc labels, posters, etc. We're still going through the forums and relocating topics, but please post all new artwork-related topics in this forum.
What browser(s) are you using?
Are you entering HTML into the plain text editor? I'm a bit confused as to what you're doing.
It's probably a cache issue. There are lots of files related to the post editor, I've made repeated updates, and browsers can be stubborn sometimes about updating cached items.
Since this post worked for you, it's probably a cache problem.
Sorry for the formatting issues guys. I thought I had that problem taken care of. I asked Ganamae to send me the content he posted so I can investigate the issue further.
That's probably because I severely restricted the editor's capabilities in an attempt to get all these layout issues under control. The editor's settings were way too liberal before (remember those floating image problems?).
I'm toying with the idea of removing the image button from the editor entirely and handling images automatically. Basically, if a user pastes a link to an image into the editor, it would be displayed in the post as a thumbnail (the browser would download the full image and I'd simply resize it with CSS) that would open the full size version when clicked. This would solve the large image formatting problem as well as prevent posts with multiple large images from taking up huge amounts of space.
Clear your cache. Stylesheets were updated.

^That setting doesn't seem to do anything??
I made some modifications. It should work now.
Avatars now display at their native size.
