yes...i know up close it was animatronic. I meant the far shots like it chasing Grant and Malcom or walking away from the first car toward the flashlight....nothing looks the slightest bit fake to me. Not once in that movie am I taken out of the world Spielberg and countless artists and animators created. Even the shot that most people say looks fakest (the brachiosaurus in daylight when they first get there) looks incredibly convincing to me. Or perhaps it's my childhood memories of me being convinced they were real when I was 7 that spill over to today.

That's a nice poster. He looks oldr but still perfectly able to get the job done. I'm so damn excited for this movie.

I don't know about you guys but when the T-Rex makes it's first appearances outside the fence and is fully CG...it looks more realistic than almost every other CG shot I havce seen in my life. It 100% fucking looks like they filmed a T-Rex walking in the rain. I can't find a single thing that looks fake in the shot. Colors, lighting, movement....it's all more perfect than most anything I saw in King Kong, LOTR trilogy, the PT. It's the best series of CG shots ever made. End of story.......IMO of course.

Side note....i love the single frame near the end of JP where they just sort of forgot to animate the raptor in the Rex's mouth.

Exactly. The whole "everything in this book is fact"....or something to that effect...that he has in the beginning of the book is to put you in the mood. I loved reading the book and reading things I just knew were not true but in the world of the novel, having these things as fact makes everything around them that's happening much more interesting. It's the media and religious groups that have taken it too seriously and delved to far into something that no one can ever really know at this time. I've never seen a religious group get all pissed off over say....the ending on Mission to Mars (which basically disproves all religions). Or any alien movie for that fact. Just having aliens in a movie goes against the history of earth taught by most religions, or at the very least conficts pretty greatly with it. Even Jurassic Park.

Anyways, that was so off topic I feel bad for typing it all....sorry.

I think Indy 4 will be, at the very least, fun. I get some really cool thoughts running through my head when I think about it being shot in that sort de-saturated, washed out, hand-held camera type of way...like Children of Men or War of the Worlds. But that's just me and my wish that some movies where shot twice and in two styles....just to see what it'd be like.

Star wars Refferance in Lost

Thought it was very funny the first time I saw it. The missus just looked at me as if to say wtf?

That one is classic. Lots of the other ones, even a non Star Wars fan might get, but nobody but the real geeks are gonna get that one.

Jabba's Hookah: screen caps?
Time
I used to love VLC player then suddenly it started giving my problems. It'll play a video for 5 minutes then it pause for a second then the sound will start but the video stays frozen.

When I try playing FLAC audio on it it skips a lot in the beginning and cuts out a few minutes into any song i play. It didn't use to do that stuff and i haven't been changing hardware and have been keeping my PC in good shape virus/spyware etc wise. No other player has these problems.

Yes, i tried re-installing but to no good. If anyone has advice i'd love to be able to go back to using it again....even the Media Player Classic does a fine job.

Dominoes or Pizza Hut?

Jarhead413, are you IN Wisconsin? I really highly recommend Rocky Rococo's if you can find one near you. It is some of the most amazing pizza my family has ever had. The sause is very spicy, the sausage is huge (not like the dinky things you get at Pizza Hut or Dominos) and the crust is wonderful.

vbangle,
Carl's is the West coast name. In the Eastern US, its called Hardees and if you want to experience something as close to a heart attack as you can get at a national chain, the Monster Thickburger is, just that, a monster. I had one a couple years ago. I had it for lunch, and I was still full at dinner time. 1400 calories and over 100 grams of fat.

I'm in Milwaukee until February, then up to Green Bay. I've definitely heard of Rocky Rococo's and everyone I know but me has eaten there, it just never happens to be when I'm around. But I think I'm about to make it a point to. Spicy sauce I think i'll be fine with but I'm very interested in these massive balls of sausage you present me with. (totally gay sounding...as it were)

Live Free Or Die Hard

Holy hell I am so happy I saw this.

Trailer on YouTube

I for one love the original trilogy (derp....) because they are always entertaining to watch, even from the middle on flipping thru TV channels. It's when you start looking to hard, that's when people start not liking them. They are A-list pure action movies about terrorists and cops and Bruce Wilis kicking ass. Anyways, enough with my incoherent thoughts...discuss.

PS...some people have been calling it fake...i can't figure out why tho.

Favorite Character

I'm just gonna have to go with Boba Fett. Someone has too.

It's mainly cuz I read and loved the 3 books basically just about him back in middle school (names escape me) He was just such an enigmatic character and the prominent bounty hunter in the series and since I'd exhausted learning about all the bigger characters at that point, he seemed next.

Saddam Hussein Sentenced To Death
Time
There is simply no way for this execution to be done away from the media in these days. Leaks of that kinda info, if they even tried to do it somewhere secret, always happen. Very little can be done to stop this from happening and even less can be done to keep people from knowing about it. I can almost guarantee attacks will occur and people will die on the day the execution is carried out.

The fact that there are people that will kill in retaliation for executing this piece of shit of a person makes me feel bad for the world.
