Return of the Jedi: A Generational Conflict
Time
Goddamn.....that was actually so incredible thought out I almost couldn't think of a single other thing for a full minute......truly a good read and and thought provoking as all hell.

Anyways, as excellent as it was, I do believe you looked to far into what is most likely a burnt out creative mind. I could gaurantee this rathe rin-depth thought never crossed his mind, only the most pluasible excuse he could conjure (which actually kinda works i guess) for trying to link the trilogies indefinetely.

HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE
Time
Never read the books. I simply do not have the time tho I love to read. Sometimes I actually get pissed about it.

Anyways, I have seen all the movies and some a few times (true I could have read instead but....you know..they're movies and its easier to get started). I liked the first one because it was the whole introductory story and like LOTR:FOTR, it was more based around telling about all the cool stuff as well as a story. I remmebr the second one but only a little because I only saw it once. I liked it of course but serious;y nothing sticks out except the end because well....it was a really big snake. Third one was cool but even tho I didn't read the books I knew much backstory must have been skipped. It had a non-sensical overall plot but hey...fantasy. Was still fun and more dark (serious actually) and had some cool effects.

I just got done watching GoF two hours ago and on first impression.....very very impressive. I liked so much about it. The acting was utterly amazing from people this age.....it puts the PT actors (all who have more acting and experience) to shame despite their high status. I put this directly on this new director. I vaguely remember his other movies but to get this out of teenagers is incredible IMO....rather realistic and emotional. The characters really start o develope...Ron starts to get angered by Harry's fame, Hermoine starts turning into the semi-sister like girl and also an object for the two guys, andHarry just keeps getting more mature (no shit huh?). The plot was actually pretty cool and see Voldemort (spelling?) was actually a little creepy, especially the quick shot he has as a small fucked up...thing. Like they said at the end, I got the big feeling things are gonna change. Do the books get way more serious and dark? Lastly, the effects in this movie are up to most of Episode 3. It was all shot/rendered/whatever so perfectly. The whole lighting, the mood, the atmosphere, the colors, just really great.

This is truly one of the very few series of films that gets better on each part. And like how it sort of matures both in look, feel, and plotlines with the way it's audience in general does.

9/10

And hell no I won't be going into the whole religions debate. I spent an entire month studying that to write a long documented essay on censorship and Harry Potter and it's just too soon for me to go off on my opinion.

Bengals fan wore an orange and black stormtrooper costume at today's game!

Thats totally awesome......cool. And he's body surfing over some old(ish) people.....old people are just funny in and of themselves. They existed when star wars owned the world.

Also, it is really weird because not once in my life before this have I seen a non-white stormtrooper......i'd like to see other soloors...maybe photoshopped. (on second thought...those black ones and gray ones in Battlefront and ESB)

I saw them last year a little before christmas. Its such a cool little experience and the musicianship is awesome. Al Petrelli (Ex-Megadeth) was doing some long ass cool solo near the beginning and it was hilarious because hewas supposed to sustain the last note but it got muted on accident and he gave the weirdest look ever to the crowd and went into some real fast make-up solo. Pretty funny and nice to know these guitar experts are human. (unless it was scripted?.....who knows.

I'd say 1)......at least PAL dvd's because i checked mine on a computer and messed around with my moniter in every way i could to get the line and couldn't. (yeah so I have WAAAYY to much time......I hat not having school now.)

But hell, wh oknows....maybe just that manufacturing plant wherever it was made had some problem or....something...idk.

yeah,I can see that example way better. They paid $150,000 for each one of those cameras..if that is happening because of the camera then some company needs too re-evaluate how much their selling that for. OF course like some other guy said, most of those shot don't have an actual camera involved so.....

I'd say its a PAL DVD problem but unless you always watch it on PC then it shouldn't even show up. Still a quality control issue but a minor one hat most people will never see.

Trump Fires Chewie!!

yea, me and my friends loved those. I think it's kinda cool that Donald Trump at least has a decent sense of humor. I also, just saw him on a re-run of Conan O'brien and he was pretty funny on that too. He's prolly one of the most involved billionaires I can think of, especially in terms of making fun of himself and justing having some fun.

ROTS Extras: CGI TPM Yoda
Time
First off, I could care less what he does with the prequel movies because I know at least I have the originals i can watch if I don't like changes. The OT is a different story as we all very well know. Second, us talking about this isn't encouraging anyone. Nothing we say is gonna make him change or not change things, the petition is the only effective thing we really have....and the fan edits we can discuss amongst ourselves.

Bizzle: You should post some captions of this purple thing. I myself haven't noticed it, are you sure your TV is calibrated. ( isuppose it won't show up the same on a moniter but...yeah)

Cassidy: I agree with you on his movements...they don't flow even that closely to what a person (you know what I mean) might look like doing that. Alsmot like he planned he was gonna do that way ahead of time and had to pull it off just right or something. They shoulda used motion capturing for way more things becsause that really helps show little nuances in movement that make things seem real (like thos clone troopers outside the temple when organa lands). As for photorealism, thats way different than movement (at least in my book but i get what you mean) I think it looks damn good for the most part except that it doesn't seem like he's making contact with his head.

And the prequels will never hold the same power of OT in its creation because like you said, their isn't anything you can really do to make it more real for you like touching that table or seeing any of the colest "props" because...they do not and will never exist. Lightsabers, costumes, and limited set pieces except for TPM (way less CG, more real that the others) are all on a fucking hardrive and........that pisses me off bad.

ROTS Extras: CGI TPM Yoda
Time
I just have this to say....I watched that hosen Ones documentary and when It went form Hayden to Yoda I absolutely in now way at the time noticed it was a CGI Yoda in a Phantom Menace scene. This is either because I am o damn used to seeing the CGI Yoda from watching the prequels as of late or that it simply just....worked. I felt retarded that I didn't notice it at all the first time but then realised that they've done such a damn decent job (despite taking away Franks only real puppeting role in the prequels) that now it just seems best that way. I say congratulations ILM for pretty much faking me into thinking i've seen something multiple times before that I really hadn't.

But in general, after all that, if they don't go and fix the AotC yoda to look good (or all that CGI while they are on this whole binge) I'l actually be pissed. If unnecissarily fixing yoda is a priority there and not fixing shitty CG from a whole movie slips by them then......goddamn. But is Lucas so....whatever.....I give up.

Violence
Time
Dude...in all honesty I can't really empathize your situation exactly....i've lost relatives thru self-inflicted violence but this is something very different and involves humanity instead of things internal.....I hope I never have to feel what I think your feelng now. I feel bad knowing that people everyday have to understand the feeling of someone they know being senselessly murdered. It's sick and no ones gets ahead.

I don't own a gun...my family has never had a gun in our house to my knowledge. I've never shot one, and hope to never unless it has to happen. I've never been hunting and really don't care to, i'll leave it up to those that do. But its just this necassary violence that spreads out past its moderated need. We need to find different ways.

Mostly everything I can say here has been said so far. Its just easier to give into our most basic instincts to be better and dominate thru whatever means and to those bastards that did this to your family (and those that do this insane shit all over the planet for no necasary gain) its what they think will show they are better. I personally believe someday we'll get past all this thru either simply evolution, laws, or just some event that makes us realize this bullshit needs to end.

I'm sorry if this seemed illogical but its just stream of thought talking.....

EDIT

I have never read the novel, was Anakins turn longer and different, I know the book was much more intense than the movie

It would have been a good idea for a 3 hr Star Wars, (but would Lucas want it too run that long) as this was the most important film in the prequel maybe saga as it covered Anakins descent and turn in to evil (which was considered weak by some- people) and the other important points such as The Rebellion scenes etc

It would have been interesting to see it as an "R" (i assume your highest rating) with the scenes but would the key SW audience be unable to attend(I am not to sure on the American Rating System) and it would definatly play on Lucas/Lucasfim mind, I know they had problems with the U.K censors over AOTC they had problems with a headbutt(Jango and Obi Wan) and were offered it uncut at a higher rating, but took the slightly lower rating with the headbutt cut out

Yeah, the book sets up Anakins turn earlier and it therefore seems like he gets to think about things for a while. Palp and him have more discussions than the movie. Hell, the way those conversations went, I was almost on Palpatines side. Intense....maybe, but more believable yes.

A 3 hour star wars is OK in my book. An R-rated SW is ok with me too. He should make a directors cut (I guess he had the final say anyways but...whatever) that is catered toward older audiences just for the sake of seeing it a different way.....who knows, most of you'd like it I'm sure. Yes, R is our highest rating in the US that gets any sort of audience. NC-17 is higher but thats basically commercial suicide and rarle gets to a theater. Most theaters I know block people under 17 from going to R movies (without a parent), especially popular ones so yes, the target audience woulda been screwed.

Can you imagine Han fighting Luke, that is what the duel in ROTS should have felt like.
Time
Yeah.....that Mountain Dew....crazy shit there.

Anyways, agree agree with however posted it blatantly about how the audience has a real hard time connecting with the people in the PT. I think it has to do with one big thing....acting. Ewan Mcgregor is good and he's proven it in the PT (for the most part) and in many other movies he's made. He just has that good quality that makes you really kinda respect him and connect. Hayden...well he is not good. It might be just GL's dialogue but even EM could pull that off good....hayden just can't seem to be convincing on any level IMO. They way he acted for much of the final battle was just bad aside from the "I hate you." Natalie Portman...who know what happened here. She is pretty good. Hell in The Professional she should a huge future in acting naturally and convincingly....at 12 years old or something. The dialogue is seriously at faoult for her but she still has moment were she just can't seem to do it right.....and some where she can.

Of those 3 main characters, Obi-Wan's problems and story are the only one people really seem t care about because he makes you through his rather good acting and thats bad considering its suppose to be Anakins story. In conclusion they shoulda found some people for these parts that can do crappy dialogue more convincingly.

PS....maybe some of it somes from many of us secretely being pissed off that we didn't get to play Anakin and some shotty actor that turns out to be no good at it got to play one of the most desired roles in movie history....and were the costume......damn him.......DAMN HIM!!!!!

...and goodamnit, all this could easily be avoided if he'd just release the OOT on DVD. Then no one would give a rats ass what he did with the movies. People could still question his actions but there would be no reason for a backlash or him to fear experimenting. This is basically the entire meaning behind this site...a simple request to get the O-OT in a high quality format release so that he can continue doing what he wants and no one but the curious would need to worry...and if they did it would be needless.
