John Williams' Music
Time
I'm listening to the Battle of Endor Part 1 and at 1:37 I shot straight up from looking at this goddamn screen and I swear I'd heard that part of it in Indiana Jones. I mean....I just spent 3 minutes convincing myself that I was wrong. It's weird that I totally know where in ROTJ that music is, but I thought of Indiana Jones first.

I won't say your wrong, but for comparison, what types of energy drinks do you think taste good. I'm a fan of Monster, Amp, No Fear and Full Throttle only. The new Superman tastes like shitty water, Red Jack and Sobe Adrenaline suck IMO. If you have similar tastes, then I
ll take your word on it.

....but i'll still try it. Because seriously.....it's Steven Seagal.....I mean.....can anyone say GOD!!!!!

I need some tech help with my smartphone(was: Anyone here know anything about smart phones?(was: Anyone here know anything about cell phones?))
Time
I also wouldn't have gotten a cell-phone but the rest of my family decided to go for a family plan so I basically ended up with a $20/month bill and roughly 1000 minutes to myself because no one else really uses theres. This was two years ago and my usage has gone up a lot but never the price. So for now, I'm satisfied. Hell, i'll prolly stay on the plan for as long as possible, maybe into my twenties (i'm 19 now) just cuz it's worked so nicely. I feel more comfortable on long trips in increasingly aging vehicles.

The Mosquito
Time
I'm 19 (so i'm in the range) and I heard it clearly. It wasn't the worst thing ever for 8 seconds but i suppose after a minute you'd want to kill something. I know people who will beat some one for scratching a fork on a plate for a few seconds and I imagine this will send them in to a frenzy. I have two very critical yet tolerant ears. I love my music and movies sounding perfect and I can get irrated by some poor speakers or retarded EQing, but at the same time a sound like that isn't gonna piss me off to no end.

I think my dogs wn't appreciate it but i dubt my dad will hear it. I hope my ears don't get to a point that they can't hear frequencies like that. But it'll happen slowly so maybe i won't notice.

BTW, a TV on in a quiet room with no sound coming from it is unpleasent to me. People always ask my why I turn off TV's that aren't even playing anything and when I tell them they look act like 'm pretending to hear a noise.

Goddamn those were a good time to be a kid. Aladdin, The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Pocahontas, Mulan, Tarzan, Hercules. All mainly traditional animation and all incredibly good movies to a kid that grew up when they were coming out. Nothing these days seems to give off that sort of "magic" anymore. Even adults from the time (my parents, relatives, art teachers) think the same thing. Everyone loved the Disney of the 90's.

Prequel demographic breakdown
Time
I think (as it is in my case) that as a young person, I was excited to see Episode I but not old enough to show up at the theater ealry in it's release or really anytime I flet like it. I was only in sixth grade at the time. With the release of Episode I, SW did gain many new and many younger fans than me. So it wasn't until three years later, than even 3 more years later that the trilogy was starting to pick up mor fans. This younger generation, basically the one right ater mine that was basically 5 years old when they first saw these, are the ones that grew up and as teeneagers, finally got to show up at the movie theater more often. That and the decline of interest in the PT among adults makes for an obvious demographic change.

These same tings happened with the OT when it came out, except with the less significant dropout of adults because they films sucked in reality. GL achieved one goal in that the generation that grew up with the PT and the SE for the most part love them for what they are and did for them, just as we do the OT. I mean, in 10 years they may not look back and remember the PT as fondly as the OT is to those that saw it first before all the newer stuff, but they will still love the movies if they do now as 8 to 10 year olds in some way. GL unwittingly has that effect on younger people, just not an older crowd this time around.

Judging by ESB & ROTJ original box office gross, here is why Lucas started to change
Time
I myself have always thought ESB was the best. Even at 8 years old (this is 1995 mind you) I was entrigued at the way that, for the first time in my movie experiences, the good guys didn't win a spectacular battle at the end. Almost nothing seemed to work out for Luke, Leia or Han. Sure, there were some lucky happenings (Luke crashing right were Yoda was, Han navigating the asteroid field well) but it was always followed by something much worse happeing to them (Han and Co. end up in an asteroid monster, Luke goes to the Force Tree).

Then when they all got to Cloud City, being the spectacle that it was, you'd almost expect good things to happen in such an pleasent sounding place. Nope. We all know what goes on there.

I knew nothing about the directors, GL and that stuff but again at 8 I was still left feeling that ESB was the the best most interesting one IMO. I still see it as a welcome change from typical Good vs. Evil stories well still being as entertaining as hell. It still holds up as the most mature of all the Star Wars movies too. I thank Kershner for seeing the potential SW had for being something both kids and adults could get engrossed in both casually and in depth. It didn't totally alienate either audience like the PT does.

And yes, i clearly see your point about the box office grosses influencing the direction GL went in. It sad that something like this influenced him more than sticking to a creative yet mature storyline I think other writers and directors would have noticed and worked for.

But alas....history is history. We have a PT that in almost no way is equal to the story-telling that both young and old can fully enjoy and contains none of the mystery and myth that the OT created. I miss my Star Wars thoughts and memories before 1999. I really honestly do.

Theres just as many people that swear they remember the rebel fleet crashing into the Death Star shield in ROTJ as well.

I can distinctley imagine in my head an X-wing (or A-wing?) pulling sideways when the shield is found to be still up and not turnng fast enough and hitting the shield.

Was this in the novel (it's been 9 or so years since I read ROTJ) because I for sure remember me either seeing it at some point somewhere or imagining it like it happened in the movie while I was reading it. 5th grade doesn't seem so long ago suddenly.

That did happen in Independence Day. Perhaps someone is getting their sci-fi movies confused?

Trust me, I know both movie too well o get them confused, it's just that I can totally imagone that scene in the movie for some reason.

Episode III on HBO in HD
Time
I'd imagine the video will look astoundingly clear (said Captian Obvious). But seriously, I still think it all looked better when I saw it on film in the theater. Digital (at this point in time) takes away some "realism" to everything.

But my opinion aside, I'd still like to see it in 1080i and would love to see it in 1080p whenver that becomes possible. In particular I'd want to watch the final fights sequence or the opening battle because they would really be interesting to watch just to find all the small details DVD can't give.
