It's official! the 2004 OT DVD release will be the Special Editions :(
Time
Fyi.. Check this site about some changes will be happening with the SE Trilogy! BBspot

Quote "Mesa!! No Belive it TRUE!" Mesa Going to Meet Luke, Leia and Han!

For some this will be a "Nightmare"!!

They Quoted Jar Jar as "most popular character in star wars." What? Were they Reading?? I remember out of 100% of the overall fans 90% Hated Jar Jar. IMHO The Most Popular Character was Boba Fett and then Vader.

oh well.

Who is the hottest babe in the star wars universe?
Time
I have posted about this before in the past. and it had not changed for me.... as far as Star Wars goes

The Hottest Hotty is:

1.Secura, Aayla ( AOTC, To me She's like the "Laura Croft of Jedi's" )

2. Leia (the way she looked in ANH Ep4, she was Breathtakingly Beautiful! IMHO. even tho I was around 10 years old.) (then there was the "Bikini" of Jedi ROTJ)

then I would say:

3rd. The Twins from ANH Ep4 (cannot remember there names at this time) Cantana Bar Girls.

4th. Oola

Digital Bits thoughts?
Time
I Too Agree what has been said about the Bits site and the others, One that does have a few fans that kinda side with us here are the members of "Jedi.net" not all but a few. .... unless those are just some of us posting there too? ¿

Back in 1995 I used to chat with a pretty big group of fans over at one of the AOL Star Wars chat Groups, I wonder if they feel the same way as us?. I bet its "50/50" for most of them too.

IMO.

P.S.
I also agree "Webmaster Jay" is a Cool Dude!

Coming at people like that is confrontational and it is a normal instinctive human response to treat such an approach as hostile and will most likely get you kicked out of the store, because if I was a manager, you would be interfering with my business. Doing something like you are proposing will get you hauled off by the cops.

I feel the better solution is INSTEAD of telling people what NOT to do, take a petition and approach people who have bought the DVD and ask them to sign a petition asking for the release of the original editions of the Star Wars trilogy. You can educate them about the fact that Lucas is only putting the Special Editions out on the box set. A fact that I'm sure some customers will be very surprised about and will probably get you a good number of signatures on that issue alone.

Yes, I know there is an online petition, but I work in the entertainment field and online petitions mean very little to companies. It's hard pieces of paper that REALLY stand out. I realize that the efforts of OT.COM and others on behalf of releasing the OT on DVD are noble, sincere and valiant. But having a big stack of papers plopped on your desk is much more dramatic than someone saying "hey, there are 50,000 signatures on the online petition"

In this day and age, people take the easiest and convenient way out, and that is by doing it online.

Just speaking from my experience in the entertainment industry, hard copy letters carry much more weight than emails.

If you want to bring petitions with you to for people to sign, I am all for it and I may even want to participate. You will probably be well received by customers and you may even get support of the management, because when you convince them that they will sell even more Star Wars if the original editions are released, they will be more than happy to support you; or at least not bother you as you collect signatures. If you want to accost people (yes accost) and tell them not to buy merchandise, I strongly advise against that. It would only get you into trouble and make us OT fans look bad.

Please consider the petition drive idea rather than a picket line.

I Agree 100% Starting a picket would be bad. no one wants to be "Told" what they can buy. even if its a "Suggestion".
A Petition Siging is mush more affective, after all if the "Trekkes"{sp?} could Petition to bring back there favoret show?. then We
can Petition for the O.OT also. «Quote: You get more flys with Honey. .. Then trying to hit them in the head with a stick. UnQuote»

If someone should make a Petition? it would be cool if it was put on a web page that can be Printed Out. then anyone here can print it off and have them ready for Sep.

Is that the guy that was "Silient Bob" in that film Silient Bob & Jay Strike Back?? I remember that dude is a BIG Star Wars Fan also.
and with his backing could also help get the word out. IMO.

it would be cool if he did some short promo spot for tv, to let people know what this is all about and he could at the end let everyone know to visit "www.originaltrilogy.com" for more info!

1 - i knew Lucas was going to f**k this up... not a surprise...

2 - i will be backing up my laserdisc's and for anyone who can prove to me that they own the original Star Wars trilogy i will also look into sending you a copy...

SIDE NOTE - Jay if there is anything wrong with what i have posted you have full rights to delete it. I do not plan on making any profit out of this, i just want people to have the best quality print of the film if they do plan on making a backup. Please get back to me on this.

I do apologize in advance if i have caused any problems but im sure this hits us all hard...

IMHO the best way to do this is to have everyone that wants a dvd too send you just the S&H Postage and 1 blank disc «Self Addressed Stamped Envelope» to a P.O. Box (if you do not want to use your home address) . that way no ones making any money off this.

It is too bad GL will not be putting the OT somewere in to the set.

But I am Happy there WILL be Something.

I too won the OT LaserDisc Set. its "The Definitive Collection" I plan to save up for one of those -/+R,RW Recorders.

but I will buying the SEs also in Sep.

Those could be the ones that got made by a company named "5 Star" but those are just the (1997) SE Laser Disc Versons Burned to DVD.
they have been around for about 2 years. as far as I know. «These's are Not Official.»

This Petition found in DVD Mag!
Time
Fyi.. this afternoon I was in a Hastings Video Store and one of the DVD Mags I was Reading (cannot remember title) was talking about this site and what we are fighting for. it was pretty cool! it was something like 4 pages long. it was mostly about the news about this falls Release of the Trilogy. the front cover I beleve had a Pic of "Luke" or "Vader" on it.

I would had gotten it but I was broke at the time.

Att: Webmaster.. there could be a big number of people checking out this site if as many people that see that Mag will find the url.

SE Trilogy on DVD coming this Fall
Time
I too hope to get the original with the SE just like "ET's" DVD Set. Steven is a good friend of George's, I would hope he can "convince{Sp?}" George to do the trilogy like the ET set. that would be the sweetest!! everyone would be HAPPY!

*Crossing Fingers*

and as for this site, it's cool and I hope its still around as a chat forum. maybe with a banner after the OTs are out saying something like:
"It is done! The Original Trilogy is out on DVD. Thank you all. ... and May the Force be with You (on DVD) Allways."

IMO.

Who Have You Met?
Time
So far I have met and talked a bit with a few stars but no one from Star Wars Yet. I have got to a few Sci-Fi Conventions.
some were stars of the old and new star trek shows.

The Coolest was when I got to meet the Original Batgirl!! Beautiful Yvonne Craig.

She was so Cool she even gave me a big Hug and said I was "Cute". From that day on.. I can see why Robbin kinda liked her. hehe That was back in 1986/87.

I heard that the new singles have the internet prevew of Aliens vs. Preadtors{SP?}. that was not in the Quadrilogy.

The only thing the single sets will not have is the 9th disk with all the laserdisc Stuff.

fyi.
