A word to the Myspleeners.
Time
Hi all.

I would like to ask something to the Myspleen uploaders:

Please, don't release DVDs as .ISO files. There's no problem when the file is smaller than 4 GB, but when is bigger those who already have an O.S. based on the FAT32 file system just can't download it, because that O.S.' (mainly W98) don't allow files bigger than 4 GB.

I'm not trying to tell people how to do things, please don't take it that way; I just think the DVDs would be more shared if we avoid .ISO files.

Thanks for reading and for your great work.

Idea: Ultimate Extras Discs Challenge
Time
I'll talk about what I would like in an official, fully restored, DVD9 discs edition.

I think the extras disc for each movie should contain its original making of (The Making Of Star Wars, SP FX: The Empire Strikes Back and Classic Creatures From Return Of The Jedi). I would also include the trailers and the deleted scenes from each film. Also the laserdisc extras for each film. Some picture galleries would be nice, too.

It would be necessary a 4th disc for "general" extras. It would include "From Star Wars To Jedi", some auditions, Return Of The Ewok, Star Tours (yeah, I think it's time to release this on DVD) and some other small stuff.

Star Wars: Classic Edition by Ocpmovie (Released)
Time
Hi all.

I received this disc and Return Of The Ewok last week.

The editing job in the Classic Edition is amazing. Of course, knowing where the special edition shots should be, you can pick some color differences but you must be searching for them. Both sources blend together very very well.

The commentary track seems to be great (and an incredible amount of work!), although I hadn't time to go through it.

I didn't check the isolated score since I already have the Editdroid version. Hey, Garret, did you reassemble the score by yourself or did you just take any of the existing versions? Just curious.

The only thing about this edition is, as somebody mentioned, the artifacts. Editing an MPEG2 and also make it fit on a DVD5 creates a lot of them. It's a pity but, as Garret says, it is what it is.

About Return Of The Ewok, the restoration work is fine, knowing the source material (we are talking about most parts of the short film taken from a camcorder screener). It was hard to me to follow the dialog. The sound wasn't that great and... well... I'm not english, so... both things together made it difficult to follow. An interesting film, though.

I haven't seen all of the extras yet. I went for the Star Tours video. I wish it had more quality. I have a camcorder screener of it that looks better (I don't know if somebody has it), but has the problems of being recorded from the seat of a flying simulator.

I checked out the Jabba scene, since it was improved with some footage I provided. It looks better than the previous version, of course.

I also got "Indulgence", a film starring Garret itself. It has some boring parts, but is pretty funny. Garret's performance is hysterical and hilarious. He emphasizes the words a lot when he's speaking, so it's quite easy for me to follow his dialogue. The story is simple and there are some good gags ("We have a very low budget" ). Both female characters are so sweet and funny (there's a green haired nurse and a pornstar called Sprinkles). There are two "south park-ed" beer bottles, too.

Well, I think that's all.

Nice discs, Garret.

Idea: Working & Releasing the Audiotracks separately?
Time
Great idea. I've offered several times here the spanish soundtrack. I have .ac3 files for the 3 classic movies, but a friend of mine told me he would rip the audio from the spanish LD directly to pcm (I'm still waiting).

For the synchronicity... maybe we could release the PCMs in a divx file, with the whole movie at very low video quality, just for reference. The video could be 200 Mb more, and that's nothing, since we're talking about 1,3 Gb files.

Idea: Star Wars (1977): Classic Edition
Time
Hi Garret.

Using the 2004 DVDs will mean to re-balance the oversaturated colors, I guess. Anyway, after the Deleted Magic, I'm sure something very good will come out of this if you finally decide to do it.

In case you decide to add english subtitles, I could provide you a spanish translation. I'm offering spanish subs to some of the OT projects that are going on because, hey, it would be nice if I could watch the movie with my non-english-speaking friends, family and, yes, girlfriend.

I also have a spanish *cough* audio track...

Info Wanted: What to convert next and help request? (for trading)

It would be great to recreate the Star Tours experience, at least with a decent video of the "tour" (and maybe a vibrating chair, lol).

I downloaded a 74 MB file some time ago. It was a camera recording of the whole trip. Maybe it came from the same tape. Quality was nice, but the video sice was too small. I was planning on converting it to DVD, adjusting the colors, but I'll wait for MeBeJedi's release.

The Star Wars Holiday Special - KCCI - Angrysun Release

I believe I have this one. I bought it from an ebayer some time before finding this wonderful forum.

The cover is white, with a drawing of the wookie family on the front and a big Angrysun logo on the background of the back side.

The menu also presents the same wookie drawing and there is a C3PO+R2 commercial and a strange hidden clip.

The quality is superb. The ebay seller hosted a DVD quality sample to download and check the quality before buying. I hope it was your brother, Rik, or I gave 14$ (I think it was around that price) to the wrong guy.

Info: Interest in DVD Trading Anyone?

Some questions:

Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D (need Special glasses to view)

Where did this DVD came from? I mean, is taken from a VHS screener or what? Quality?

Howard The Duck import from Hong Kong with Dolby surround sound

Quality of this one?

Hey Rik, your list never stops growing!

By the way, this is a question for you all: Is there any decent version of the Star Tours? I would love to own a high quality version of this, maybe taken directly from the laserdisc (last time I heard, the attraction used laserdisc as image source instead movie reel).

¡hola amigo! welcome to the club!!

¡Hola Rik! Nice place here. I've "discovered" a lot of great stuff through this forum... and myspleen. You are providing GREAT downloads there!

I'm still working with all that bonus features. I'm finished subtitling the Forgotten Scenes DVD, I just have to make a menu for that. When I have 2 or 3 discs finished I'll send them to you to check them out!
