John William's Opinion on the Special Editions
Time
And that is why I love them. *waves little heart flag*

Hmm...I don't think that my DVDs are screwed up. I bought mine second hand from Amazon.com (saved me a pretty penny), so I don't think that I got a screwed up version.

But this is pretty screwed up though:
http://www.adangio.com/galleryImg/large/movie182.jpg

As far as I know, this isn't true. One - Robert Z. and Producer Bob said that "Sorry folks, there's no part 4." And 2 - the Delorian was destroyed. Of course Hollywood can usually do whatever the hell they want. It's just that none of the original cast or crew is gonna do it. And poor Michael J. Fox and his Parkinsons Disease would make it very hard to do a forth movie.
So would I go see it? Doubtful.

There are disks that are messed up? My trilogy DVD set has a few pauses between one chapter and the next, but that has only happened like 2 or 3 times in the same place. Some DVDs are glitchy others aren't. I just ignore it.

I may be a die hard Star Wars fan, but until George gets his head out of his ass and gives us an OOT DVD set, BTTF will always be my favorite Trilogy.

John Williams' music for the PT is the ONLY redeaming quality of that whole trilogy. I'm glad that he did it because if it didn't I don't know what type of venom I might have spewed towards the PT.

I've been hearing more and more (either that or I am more aware of other directors/producers/artists comments) about how Lucas should just leave things well enough alone. Some of it is blatent statments in the press, other times it is tongue in cheek comments. Why, just yesterday I was listening to the commentary on "Back ot the Future, part II" and producer Bob What's-his-face made a comment that they could have gone back and corrected a couple of goofs and flaws in the picture but elected not to because "I don't believe in that sort of thing, and neither does Robert Zemeckis." When I heard him say that I was all like, "Hell yeah!" Rock on original film glitches and matte lines! Woo!

A "Star Wars" reference I'd love to see on "24"
Time
You know. I've never seen 24 before.

I used to think it was a science fiction show in which the basic plot is:

There is a time machine that can send someone back in time exactly 24 hours from our current start point. No more, no less. Jack works for the government and constantly goes back in time to save people, prime ministers, presidents, buildings, and various other things that can be destroied if not for the magical time machine. Every episode starts out with something horrible happening, and then Jack goes back in time to try and stop it before time catches up with him.

I was then told that, no, this is not what the show was about. It deals with 24 hours in a day in one season. "Oh well, screw that." I said, and walk away.

My concept is way cooler than what the show really is. Once I get my Bachelors in Dec., I'm gonna go make a TV about that. Time Travel is bitchin' concept (even though it isn't all that original).

Lightsaber commercial

I don't know. But I have one. I got it like 5 months ago. It's Luke's (well technically it is his father's but it was his for 2 movies) and I love it. I paid $90 for mine and I loves it to death. Though, since I don't know anyone who else has a master replicas saber I don't have anyone to fight against, but those things are like indestructable (even though it obviously says THIS IS NOT A TOY on the side of the box). Bullshit. It's a toy and the only reason we are buying these sabers is because we want to beat each other senseless with them and not have the saber actually bend at the middle (I'm looking in your direction Mr. cheap plastic lightsaber).

That master replica saber is bitchin' though. I've been known to turn off all the lights in the house (except for varioius low lights), blast some Star Wars music, and fight invisable sith with that thing. (However once my aunt actually walked in on me twirling that thing around in my living room and the "Back to the Future" theme was blasting and said, "Are you so nerdily sophisticated that you have to play 2 trilogies at once?" I giggled.) It glows, it hums, it even has light travel up and down the shaft like a real saber - and in the dark it looks so damn cool. If you don't have one, get one.

Snakes on a Plane
Time
I'm going to go see it because of how bad it will be. I've known about "Snakes on a Plane" since like November. It is going to turn into a cult classic. Samuel L. Jackson + snakes + planes = cinema gold.

Soon there will be many, many spin offs like "Sharks in a Honda Civic," "Rhinos on a Train," "Dolphins on a Bike."

I have dreamed of this for so long. How totally bitchin' would that be?

Birds of Prey intro - Mark Hamill's voice for Joker
Time
Umm... Didn't he film "The Flash" like, a long time ago? The guy will hit 55 this year. I don't think he can physically be the Joker. But I toally agree that he should be the voice and then have someone be the "actor." That would kick so much ass.

And this short lived TV show looks pretty cool. Did the Joker have a decent sized part? Because that would be the main reason for me wanting to watch the show.

HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE
Time
I like not having read the books because I really do like the movies. I wasn't a Harry Potter fan until about October of last year because I saw the first movie on TV. My aunt has read the books but I know that as soon as I read them I'll compare them to the movies and I don't want to do that. I want to enjoy the movies for what they are, and then go and read the books. It's much better that way.

Certain parts of the PT are just cringeworthy, how did this happen?
Time
Because the Queen was so young and so mature, Lucas should have hired a young, mature actress. Can anyone say Dakota Fanning? Now that would have kicked ass.

And I agree, it was piss poor of George Lucas to cast two different actors to play Anakin while everyone else stayed the same.

"I truely, deeply, love you." - You swoon me with your linguistic skills, Padme...

"From my point of view the Jedi are evil!" - Wow, can't argue with that logic.

"Good bye, Chewbacca." - All that was missing was a Pepsi can in Yoda's hand, it would make the plug all that more OBVIOUS.

And I agree with the whole "Virgin birth" crap Lucas was stealing. I know he likes Religion and Mythology stories (who doesn't?) but that was just way out of line. Why didn't he just give Anakin the middle name of Jesus while he was at it? *cringe*

"What have I done!? [pause] I will do anything you ask." - This caused me to physically shout out, "WTF? Didn't he just want to kill him two scenes ago?"

And the whole fact that Anakin's portrail of his turn to the dark side consisted of him squinting for 2 hours. LAME.

By all technical accounts (I'm a HUGE Voyager fan), they didn't end up in the Delta Quadrant because of a wormhole. It was the caretaker's array that sucked Voyager to the otherside of the galaxy.

Anyway, yeah, how 'bout that Star Wars timeline, eh?

ESB is quite difficult to time line because as an audiance we don't have a lot of references (other than logic) to come up with a proper time line. Since the Falcon had no hyperspeed that means that they were on thrusters only and that has got to be one long ass trek. They said that they were in a solar system and that Bespin was one of the planets (makes sense since they were in an asteroid field; those don't just apear in random parts of the universe). It takes us months to send probes to Mars, let alone the newest probe sent to Pluto - which will take 9 years to get there.
So the Falcon had to limp it's way to Bespin, and Han said it was far but do-able.

Kershner said that ESB does take place over several months, which is plausable, but it's hard to see because none of the character's clothes change. Okay, Leia escaped with Han and only had the clothes she was wearing, but she should have changed her hair. I mean, I can't stand wearing the same up-do hair style for more than a day. I get those "hair head aches" where your scalp hurts. I blame the director for that one. He could have at least given us some sort of reference that a lot of time was elapsing. Given Luke a bit of a 5 o'clock shadow later in his training, have Leia change her hair style once or twice. Hell, have her take off her coat for once and run around in her tanktop for a few scenes.

And to make things worse, when she get's to bespin she changes, but then after the torture she is back in her same damn snow clothes she's been wearing for 3 months.

I'm in the same boat as Dork313. I'm a petty, internet-less (I'm in the university library if you are wondering how I am typing this), American sucker who would be very willing to return a favor in chance of getting a Region 1 disk of this wonderful glory.

What time frame do the OT movies take place in?
Time
It's possible since we have no time reference other than our starting point. We have to make a lot of assumptions on Day 4. Here was my own personal interpritation of time passage.

0100 - arive at alderaan's remains
0130 - Falcon is in the docking bay and the scanning crew gets there on the double
0150 - Gang ambushes troops and steals their armor, hops into control booth
0200 - R2 finds the reactor, Obi-Wan leaves
0210 - Han and Luke run off to try and find Leia
0350 - after much travel (because it is a huge ass station) Han and Luke find the detention center
0405 - Leia saves their skins
0415 - gang escapes trash compactor, and head off for the falcon
0600 - reach over pass where the falcon is, gang separates
0630 - gang reunites by falcon, Obi-Wan dies
0635 - falcon escapes death star

(For nice round numbers I say it took them 12 hours to reach Yavin 4, I'm sure a few of them got a couple hours of shut-eye)

6:35 PM - gang reaches the Rebel base
6:40 PM - Leia instructs the commander to work on R2 right away (since she knows they were all tracked there), Luke meets up with Biggs and takes the X-wing pilot test
midnight - Information is decoded and a weekness has been found

Day 5:
0100 - pilots assemble, doubt the almighty power of the proton torpedo
0200 - death star approaches, pilots scramble
0230 - attack on death star begins
0300 - death star gets blown the hell up
0320 - Luke is mauled by his new fans, R2 heads off for repairs

(at this point, everyone is very tired, but thrilled. The rest of Day 5 is devoted to cleaning up, getting some sleep, eating something, and getting ready for the awards the next day)

Day 6:
Party!!! Woo!

(I take creative liberty in saying that the info in R2 was decoded in 6 hours or so, mostly because the information wouldn't be that hard to read since it is all digital and computerized and the whole gambit. Also, the Rebels had an incentive to find a weakness quickly since they knew that Leia had been tracked, and further proof off that would be that the Death Star did indeed show up just shortly after the Falcon did.)

ANH

Day 1:
Leia ship is attacked, droids plummit to planet, C-3PO pisses off R2 and the two separate, (evening) both droids are captured by Jawas

Day 2:
Droids are bought by Owen, Luke looses droids

Day 3:
(morning) Luke finds droids, meets up with Obi-Wan, (afternoon) Luke's family is dead/drive to Mos Eisly, escape on Falcon

Day 4:
(early AM) Reach remains of Alderaan (based on Han's military time comment "We'll be there by 0100 hours"), pulled into Death Star, rescue of Princess, escape from Death Star, flight to Yavin 4, (early evening) decoding of R2's files, briefing, attack on the Death Star/destruction, return to base

Day 5:
Awards Celebration

(this is where I take some creative leave - How long did it take to get to the detention center to get Leia? I say a good hour and a half. How long did it take to get back to the ship? About the same. How long of a flight to Yavin? I say they reached Yavin 12 - 14 hours after the gang first found the remains of Alderaan)
