Well, that's a big problem when you're taking video sources into account - in video sources, there are usually additional or missing black frames at the beginning, which would be accounted for by a simple audio delay, so it's hard to say what is actually frame #0001. That is why I synced all three at a cut from shot to shot and then you can start comparing frame differences, because a frame difference, which is there from the very first black frames and continues to be the same throughout is practically inconsequential.

OK, sorry guys, the frame actually isn't missing on the BD, I made a mistake there. Sorry for the false alarm. However, I put the 2006 DVD, '97SE and the BD all side by side (I unfortunately don't have a usable file of the '81 version at hand, so I can't speak to that) and synced them by the first frame of the first shot of the inside of Tantive IV (with 3P0 and R2) and everything else seems to be in perfect sync too - the crawl starts on the same frame, all the  laser shots and flashes appear in the same frames, so the audio should be perfectly in sync as well.

@towne32: Yeah, a few of those zoomed in shots were already done this way in v1.0 but it wasn't until after the release of v1.0, that 005 noticed many many more shots were actually zoomed in and added them to his gallery and those are the shots I just did but yeah, the video I posted also contains those I'd already done before.

Man, that's historical revisionism! ;)

 Ooops, sorry about that.

I'm on my phone and didn't manage to watch the whole video but I saw the first part and I definitely remeber the BD missing one frame (I think second or third to last) in the flyover shot and I had to recreate it to keep it i  sync with both the GOUT and the '97 SE (which BTW is the same composite as the BD and '04 DVD version and different from the '81  version).

@rockin: I was trying to make the color of the sabers and skintones consistent and the consistence of  background sometimes suffers a bit as a result but it was never that consistent to begin with :-) And yes, the 97SE was taken into account, though my main reference was still the GOUT with boosted colors.

OK, so concerning those zoomed-in cockpit shots in ESB; most of you have probably seen, that Ady unzoomed those shots for ESB:R using some 35mm sources - I contacted him, asking if I could use those shots he made and he said he didn't mind if I used them but I'd have to wait for ESB:R to be released and since it may still be quite a while before that happens, for v2.0 I decided to go with my original plan and unzoom those shots using the GOUT and 97SE (most of the zoom-ins were done in 2004) and I spent most of today's evening working on it and  you can see how it worked out here:

images: http://postimg.org/gallery/75qley3w/ (The pics are from the video, so there are some compression artifacts.)

(Note that the colors aren't final - they are just adjusted, so that the sources fit together but they will most likely be further tweaked when I put them into the movie.)

By any chance, does anyone still have the multiupload links for SW v2.5 AVCHD and/or MKV loaded into JDownloader? It seems multiupload is down but all the separate links to the other servers should still work but they cannot be got from the multiupload links, so if someone had them loaded in JDownloader, they could make a DLC out of them and save me a re-upload, which would have to be to uloz.to.

LOL, you guys, you flatter me too much :-)

But yeah, I'll definitely be trying to improve that scene - I actually have a lead on some HD 35mm sources for it.

schorman's HDTV Star Wars Saga Preservation (Released)

I downloaded these (except for Ep 3) and they should be useful for Despecialized, especially ROTJ and potentially an eventual TPM DeEd. Thanks schorman for this wonderful preservation!

Also, I just wanted to say, that if it was possible, once/if you get to doing the menus, it would be pretty wizard, if you could replicate the structure of the 2004 DVD menus by using the videos from the DVD menus and upscaling them to 1080p (I guess PAL DVDs would be better, since they have better resolution).
