Here's a new clip from ROTJ:PDE. It is the Lapti Nek scene. It is for the most part just upscaled GOUT but I think it's quite ok...
The colors on Jedi are almost finished. The music number is done and I decided in the end to just replace the Sarlacc shots with the originals because I just couldn't get the beak removal to work to my liking because of the telecine wobble on GOUT, so that's finished too.
Now I really need someone to post the 97 SE ending to RS for me, PLEASE!!! I want the best quality source possible for the original Anakin ghost and I can't find TB or KGar Jedi anywhere. Could someone PLEASE just extract those few seconds of the ghosts from either one of those and post a clip to RS. PRETTY PLEASE!!!

This is largely based on Adywan’s work (I used Ady's AVCHD of ep.IV as the main source and a few shots from ANH:Revisited and GOUT.) I used the 2.0 soundtrack from GOUT and adjusted and trimmed the AVCHD to fit to it, so I virtually recreated the theatrical cut. Then I also replaced some of the most glaring CGI and other offending changes with either the GOUT or ANH:R where Adywan did it (Ronto blocking the view of stormies stoping the speeder and the flying droid in the same scene and the two censored shots of the imperials being shot).
The quality difference between the sources is unfortunately quite noticeable but I still prefer watching this over any other version out there as it’s HD for the most part and it’s a lot closer to the original.
I also adjusted the original Czech dubbing to this because I want my little brother (and some time in the future my kids, although I'm hoping that by that time there will be a proper Blu-Ray release of the OOT) to be able to watch STAR WARS in a better way than the old fullscreen VHS.
And I added the audio description track as a little bonus but unfortunatelly I didn't manage to sync it very well.

My problem with Luke's Tatooine line isn't the clarity of pronunciation, I never had a problem understanding what he was saying there, but he says it like he's trying to remember and for a second he can't figure it out: I'll meet you at the randevous point on... erm... Tatooine.

Yes, that's what I assumed. And then I had to adjust the GOUT footage to the same speed and that's where the issues are the worst...
No, that is not this project, mine is only an 8GB mkv. But I must warn you not to expect anything better from this project, it is basically the same thing, Adywan's HD with shots from revisited and GOUT spliced into it and it also has some framerate issues. But like for that guy, this is also only my personal version, which I only offer in case anyone may be interested but I'm well aware of it's shortcomings. The videos on youtube are actually a pretty good representation of what this actually looks like.
OK, I finally got round to uploading STAR WARS in 1080p. Unfortunately I'm home for the holidays and the bandwith here is not very good so it'll take ages. But if you're interested, just say so here or PM me and I'll let you know as soon as the upload's finished.

Well, kamyio sent me an e-mail and said that because you stinking skunks were mocking his efforts, he's only gonna share the first pictures with me. But I decided to f*ck him over and post them here. Yeah, I did, they're basically just scans of the original VHS covers adjusted to a DVD size, I don't think I have the files anymore.
And that's interesting information about the boxed set, because I'm 100% sure that the German fullscreen versions of this release were in a beutiful box which included the Classic Creatures: Return of the Jedi documentary.
So maybe it was just the widescreen versions that came out separately.
Well, I'm trying to get closer to the originals i.e. rerotoscoping the lightsabres is definitely not an option. You'll have to wait for Adywan to do that.

OK, I gave it a shot. Here is a demo clip and here's a splitscreen comparison.
I think it's not bad. There is one problem though. The lightsabre problems in the 2004 version are due to contrast and brightness issues and increasing contrast brings out compression artifacts present in the source file. But IMO it's still better than the pink lightsabre.
Yeah, I said I'm gona try to do some basic color correction but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do the sabres. I'll certainly try.
Oh, and I used After Effects.

Really? Like I said, I'm open to suggestions. I was really only going to do the musical number, Sarlacc and the orig. celebration. Just to make sure I wasn't forgeting anything, I went through this list and didn't really find anything else to despecialize. Exept maybe some little trimming t fit to the orig. audio.

I just did a similar thing, I adjusted Czech dub to my SW and ESB partly despecialized. It was quite hard and I can't really imagine how hard it would be to try and make it 5.1...
