Does anyone know how to do this?
It would be great for restoring the original matte paintings from GOUT.

What Chewtobacca said and I don't particularly want to make a PAL DVD, because this is mainly an HD project and I just wanted to make an NTSC DVD5 (the most universally playable SD format) for those who don't have HD playback capability.
OK, guys, thanks to Chewtobacca who converted it for me, a standard definition NTSC DVD5 is now available featuring hairy_hen's purist 5.1 mix.

This is really cool and it's nice quality, any chance for a downloadable less compressed download? I'd also really like to see the original 97SE featurettes presented before the films on VHS (and I'm hoping LD) in similar quality. Anyone got those?

Yeah, I googled it and it's really easy to find the dutch version. I'd love to see a longer version, seems really good.
These look much better, especially the colours.
And as to this picture, I considered it, but there's another shot from the same angle in the SE which wasn't altered, so it will be better to use that.
Well, actually the prints are faded, so I don't think that the colours are accurate, look at the Jedi scans. But even SW and Empire are faded, some reels more than others maybe but they all are.
Sadly, I looked and unless there are some others than these, this was the only one I could really use. And even so, I could only use the ground, because the sky and the clouds were so grainy (and I'm sure that it was not the natural grain present in the o-neg, but dirt on the print) that I couldn't use them because the grain and dirt would be static and that would look horrible.
That's possible. It's only like 15mins long. But it has a lot of cool stuff in it, I just wish it was better quality.
I've got it. It's a shitty VHS-rip with dutch subtitles but I have it. Do you want links?
Yeah, I had to alter the sky in order to make the transition from the previous shot less jarring. What was eaten up by YouTube compression is all the grain.
