Not this kind of DVNR.
Not this kind of DVNR.
Yes, there are but I'm working on other stuff right now. New cover will be released with the BD, as well as the old cover adjusted to v2.0 specs.
@NeverarGreat: That is very much practically possible. But in order to do so, you need an insane amount of computing power and insanely good software.
Yes. It will be 23GB. And it will be awesome :-)
V2.1 sounds good. And the fixes will only be done to the BD. No AVCHD v2.1.
Oh, wow, ok, that's ugly. I hope the DVD5 doesn't actually look like that and it's just something set wrong on your computer. Couldn't it be something with the way your computer uspscales the DVD?
Oh, I agree 100%.
OK, so the fixed AVCHD can be found at the usual place. Here's a new nfo:

I don't know what the DVD5 looks like (I'm gonna have to get it when I get home, as I can't use torrents here) but otherwise I'd say that v2.0 looks anything but DVNred and waxy.
Muxing it now, so if everything goes well it could be online in an hour or two.
Yeah. There would really be nothing to be gained from using a higher bitrate. And, ok, I'm just gonna go out and say it, even though it's against my better judgement - I will likely do a new render for the BD in which I will fix a few things. I would still prefer any problem be reported via PM, so that I'm not caved in by an avalanche of suggestions and people trying to convince me to fix stuff I don't want to fix.
I might lower the gamma slightly on a few shots in the Luke meets Ben scene, but that's as far as I'm going with it.

These three SE-wipes were replaced by new ones for the 2004 DVD transfer.
Will this never end?
Well, it's kinda obvious they had to be replaced when the shots they wipe to/from were replaced, so it's not really new info, just missing from the list
Or, right, I missed that.
That's simple why I didn't use the GOUT. Because it looks like crap. And as to that ships taking off shot, I never noticed that, so it's indeed probably a little mistake. The fourth ships are still there but much less visible.
Isn't it possible that the difference was somehow caused by the DVNr on the GOUT? I'm surprised it didn't delete the ships altogether.
So, AVCHD doesn't need to be 448Kbps, that's just for SD DVD, right? If so, I'll probably use the 640Kbps version for the AVCHD and get rid of one of the other soundtracks.
@rnranimal: they probably weren't affected but just in case, h_h sent me replacements for those too.
Yeah, the pluggin does mainly tackle colours, so the brightness isn't completely acurate. But yeah, it was really difficult to make it this bright and keep everything just right, I had to do a lot of curves adjustments and some of the shots were a bit brighter in the BD and they might look a bit too bright but not too far from the source.
Here is a frame from the Jedi1.net scans and MV's screen photo recoloured to the colours of my reference source automatically using the colorlike avisynth plugin:

The comparison I'm working on (well, the project file got corrupted, so I'll have to start from scratch) will be comparing the BD, GOUT, DeEd v1 and v2.
OK, so I keep hearing good things about the Darth Plagueis book. I was considering giving it a go but I am very hessitant because it sounds like a full on prequel universe story and I hated the scene where Darth Plagueis (Seriously? general Grievous and Darth Plagueis? Where's Dr. Horrible and Captain Evil?) was mentioned. Anyone know anything about the book?
Slynger: Yes. The new version of the AVCHD should be up on Tuesday.
Also, the matte shot you mentioned was put together from various sources originally and was only like 70% faithful to the original, in v2.0 it's sourced from a 35mm scan, so it's 100% faithful.
Why not encode a simple low bitrate avi or mp4, which could serve as a timing reference. DVD streams are problematic and this is all that would be needed to set a timing standard.
It's simple enough. I have no hate for mkv as a format at all. The issue here is that the current mkv has problems and I'm definitely not doing another upload of it and I'm sure by now everybody who wanted it already has it and I'd rather that people who stumble across it by chance later will be able to choose between the AVCHD and BD, which should not have that problem.
