In the coming days, the city will also remove three statues of Confederate Gens. Robert E. Lee and P.G.T. Beauregard and Confederate President Jefferson Davis, now that legal challenges have been overcome.

Are we trying to pretend the Civil War never happened? Robert E. Lee is probably the least offensive prominent Confederate figure. He’s nowhere near as bad as George Wallace, who actually ran for President on a white supremacy platform… in 1968. I don’t feel like these removals are really thought through.

My advice is to give up on girls and just wait. High school is hell and everyone there is a dipshit or doesn’t have your best interest in mind. I approached it like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and got burned hard. Honesty is not valued. Everyone decieves and gossips. It’s hell. And it doesn’t get better. So give up now and admit to yourself you’re better off alone. That’s what I eventually learned.

Actually in 2002 the majorities of the cinemas / movie theatres on the planet have projected the movie from 35mm prints. So…

I think the motivation would be that since he’s been scolded more than a few times, he probably set up a second account in case his first gets banned. The sentence structure and language used is just too similar between the two posters. Of course, it could also be a troll trying to “emulate” Obi-Wanspeak but I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that’s not the case.

I think that is unlikely. sentence structure (or the lack there of) is not really an indicator. I think it’s just common for millennials to not have any web etiquette and a small vocabulary.

Genuinely curious, how so?

His cavalier attitude, and tendency to just say and do whatever he thought was massively appealing to me. He never wrote any of his jokes, though he’d repeat some, he never had anything planned, so most if not all of his performances were improv. Him being around was a big confidence booster.

I have to pay my respects to Don Rickles, he was a massive influence on me.

I’m taking a break from this place. I’ve been an off-and-on poster since 2014, but somehow began posting daily around the end of December. I really enjoy this place, but damn, it starts to sound like a broken record after awhile.

It’s a commentary on our post modern world, setting its sights on the very idea of criticism with biting irony and satire, without a hint of sarcasm that so often befalls other works of parody. It employs actors, production design, uses the entire Philip Glass score for Kundun, and in a similar vein to Best Picture winner Birdman and Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope, uses a single, unbroken take. Seems more like some sort of video essay? I mean the concept of “movie” is a rather nebulous term so technically you could apply it to all manner of videos. That doesn’t mean you should, though.

Then F for Fake isn’t really a movie if “video essays” are excluded? It’s much more than just that one video, it’s really crazy the further you dig into it, requiring a near decade worth of preparation. I just felt like sharing it. I honestly did not expect controversy posting it, I put it here after being reprimanded for posting a video in the random images thread, since there’s no thread for non-Star Wars video finds.

It’s much better. Last time I screened it with a few friends there were no complaints.
