I don't see the issue here. The original is no longer available, and so Spaced Ranger is creating the best reconstruction we can get of it.

But why would you want it?

Wanting it jusrt because it disappeared seems like a weird reason, despite the end mission of this site. Comparing the loss of ridiculous cartoon boobs to the loss of Star Wars is crazy talk.

Because I'm weird in that when I watch something, I want to watch what was originally shown. Call me a purist, call me crazy, but I really don't like any changes, even minor ones.

Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *
Time

I've got a question about the distribution of the new trilogy for anybody in the know. Now that Disney owns everything Star Wars will they partner with 20th Century Fox to release the film or is that iconic logo and fanfare forever gone from the start of all the films as well as any future DVD releases of past films?

No Fox fanfare or logo. Sorry, pal!

Also, will Disney hold tradition and not show credits at the beginning of the films and wait until the final crawl to give everyone their due or will we see names plastered everywhere during the action?

I think tradition will be held, but we won't know for sure until December.

I also hope Abrams holds the Star Wars tradition of wipes when transitioning from one scene to another.

Oh boy, that'll be fun.

How the Special Edition Should Have Been

I agree, every version of the movies should be available.

Perfect release?

A 6 disc box set:

- 3 discs with the definitive 2011 editions

- 3 discs with the Theatrical and Special editions in seamless branching

Actually better not consider the 2004 dvd, they're just a prototype of the 2011...

Heck, the only two I consider historically important are the originals and the '97 SEs (or in Star Wars' case, the '77, '81, and '97 cuts). The '04 and '11 cuts are virtually identical, only seen in a home video release, and does anyone even want those?

Star Wars GOUT in HD using super resolution algorithm (* unfinished project *)

Kind of off topic, so I apologize in advance. But which do you think has color that is closer to the original elements? The Blu Ray or the GOUT?

With the Blu Ray, they seem to over-saturate the colors so they "pop" more. Whereas the GOUT seemed to capture the natural color palette better, even though the transfer was very substandard.

Digital video to me seems over saturated and makes it hyper real, whereas film has a soft, and very natural color. Plus, I love film grain. :)

Neither are really good sources to the original color, but the GOUT is probably closer. Someone here has got an LPP print lying around somewhere, which would probably be closest to the original color. Stay tuned! ;)

Just stubbled across this thread after viewing the disappointing DC last night. Is Version 2 ready yet? I so long to see this movie as it was originally portrayed. If version 2 is not completed yet, is version 1 still out?

PM sent. V2 is not done yet.

Are those my Aliens caps in your sig?

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1

Just an FYI,

there are no links for the NTSC DVD5 edition on tehPARADOX currently.

The other two movies are, and they made me cry a little when I watched them, so well done and brings back so many fond memories ;)

I doubt Harmy will put up new links to an old version, but if you look hard enough I'm sure you'll be able to find it. I'd wait for V2.0, personally.

Well, like my father always cautioned me: "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't true..."

I just stumbled onto this site, and this thread.

Is it too good to be true?

I hope not.

I have read all the posts, and it appears that version 2 has stalled (?)

I am keen (very, very, keen) to finally have access to the Mozart-shoots-first version of Amadeus in HD... given that the only other HD version is the, so-called, Director's Cut (which I consider to have been the ruination one of my all-time favorite films).

So, while we're patiently waiting for version 2 to get back on track, is version 1 still available?

Thanks, very much.

p.s. I almost feel like I'm talking to the Tooth Fairy.

Wish granted. Check your PMs!

If you feel it's just not worth continuing the relationship, you are free to just stop seeing them. You should just let him know how he's been acting in a calm, rational manner, and if things don't improve, screw him. Don't feel obligated to continue a friendship simply because it's been a long one. It seems to me you'd be happier without this friend.
