Ranking the Batman films
Time

My rankings:

  1. Batman Mask of the Phantasm
  2. Batman: The Movie (1966)
  3. Batman (1989)
  4. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
  5. The Dark Knight
  6. Batman Under the Red Hood
  7. Batman Begins
  8. Batman Returns
  9. Batman Forever
  10. The Dark Knight Rises
    11-100. Random Direct-to-Video schlock
  11. Batman & Robin

Any other significant releases I haven’t seen. I’m passing entirely on DC’s new movie series, as you can see I like some camp in my movies. But it has to be good.

The forum software is putting Batman & Robin at 11 when I wrote 101. Stop interfering with my posts.

Nobody is talking about haircuts when they use the word “dated” to describe something.

Nobody?

Ok.

In 50 years, do you think a Star Wars audience is going to be able to tell a 1970s haircut apart from a 1990s one?

I mean, I can tell the difference between 40s and 50s haircuts and styles, so I don’t know what you’re on to there. Star Wars is very much a 70s film telling a story nearly as old as time itself in a new way, but that’s part of why we love it.

In any event, when the Anne Frank Center has a problem with the joke, that kind of settles it.

You would think so but apparently not.

What are we even debating here?

If I’m a total hypocrite or not.

I don’t feel like debating your or any other poster’s character here.

Because I’m the bad guy, not Tim Allen.

How about neither?

And I can’t even tell if it’s because I dared to be offended or because I posted a Jezebel link instead of a CBS News link.

I think it was more because the Jezebel article was poorly written than you being offended, as I said it’s completely reasonable to be offended at a comparison to Nazi Germany, a comparison to McCarthyism would have been better for his purposes.

Alright, I’ll leave this alone for now.

Well, jokes usually take target at something, I don’t know what you’re upset at me for other than I’m not upset at a bad joke.

You think all jokes are offensive on some level, which I completely disagree with.

Alright, fair enough.

You also think Tim Allen’s joke was no more offensive than a knock-knock joke, which I completely disagree with.

I just said I wasn’t upset with it, I never compared his joke with any other, just that every joke can be offensive on some level.

I’m not upset with you, I just think you’re completely wrong.

I can accept that, you just seemed upset. Alright, thanks for the clarification.

I’m glad to see the “illusion of truth effect” is alive and well in the world still. Keeps things interesting if nothing else.

This is probably the second time I’ve even talked to you, so I don’t get why you’re upset. Jokes, especially political jokes, usually have a meaning behind them, calling to attention a point of criticism or something, otherwise what’s the point? I couldn’t tell if the meaning had something to do with Trump or Merkel, and simply asked for clarification, which you seem unable to provide.

Whoa this is excruciatingly awkward…

Of course diplomats behind-the-scenes do all the real negotiating but when you refuse to shake the hand of the most important politician in European, diplomatic relations just got frosty (or to be generous, Trump might be going deaf).

Knowing what that hand might have just grabbed, I wouldn’t want to shake hands with him.

Clearly you did not read the post I parodied. I took warblers statement and turned it around, nothing more. There is no hidden insult or cryptic meaning that can only be decoded by you asking for me to reveal some magical answer key.

I read it, I simply did not know your intent. You turned around the statement, anyone can see this, but why? If you had anything to say about Merkel, why not just say it? I won’t bother continuing with this train of thought, the hidden insults in this new post are much more obvious.

EDIT: So I just got the joke. She has a pussy and might touch it occasionally. Case closed.

There are no hidden insults. Apparently, not everyone can see or do this here. It had nothing to do with genitalia of any kind. Business as usual.

Oh my god.
