I agree with you 20.

It was unnecessary to change the origin story. The Joker could have been a psycho in the movie without having killed Wayne's parents. The Joe Chill angle only goes as far as his origin...his parent's death is the motivating factor, not the person who pulled the trigger. This is like having Ras al' Ghul kill his parents in the latest movie. They just don't need to do it to make the bad guy "bad". IMO, leave 50 or so years of history alone.

I guess they wanted the 1989 movie to have a feeling of finality and closure, i.e. - hero destroys villain and for reason. Of course, the problem with that is that if Batman were to nail his parents killer - Joe Chill - he'd probably lose his motivation to be Batman, which was supposed to be a plot point in Batman Returns but didn't quite come through.

God I hope the reports are true...

Yeah, Marvel was out supering Supes back in the day. Thne the lawsuit.

I for one would love to see a Captain Marvel movie... Unfortunately, with lisencing issues and the fact it probably wouldn't sell well with studios or audiences means that if Captain Marvel ever does get a modern big-screen debut, it will probably be along side more marketable heroes.

Actually I hear that Stephen Sommers, director of the Mummy films and the craptacular Van Helsing, is currently working on a live action adaptation of Captain Marvel, tentively titled "Shazam!"

I will always remember Reeve as Supes. I don't think a Capt. Marvel movie would *ahem* fly. He can't even support his own comic. I do like the character, but he's just never been that popular.

Actually Captain Marvel was very popular back when he was first created in the 40s, but his reputation hasn't held up very well over the years. I wonder if the lawsuit DC brought against his original company (Fawcett Publishing) had anything to do with that...

Not I, Darth Chaltab.

Anyone here read "Justice League of America: Year 1"?

By the way, I hear that for Spider-Man 3 Thomas Haden Church is playing the Sand Man and Topher Grace is playing Eddie Brock/Venom(!), I kid you not. So, is Spider-Man still all good or do you think the casting of Grace as Venom indicates the franchise having jumped the shark?

Sometimes, romances just spoil movies, don't they?

Whenever I'm watching an action movie, and then some useless woman (not a sexist comment, just she was useless to the plot) appears on the screen and I think, ugh...here comes the romantic interest.

I heary you baron, I hear you.

I got another addition, I'm not sure if it should really count or not, but I'm adding Monica Bellucci and Lambert Wilson (AKA: The Go To Guy For Smug, Smarmy, Effeminate French Villains) from The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

And then Jackson forgot to do the romance between Faramir & Eowyn...

If the love story of Aragorn and Arwen seemed forced, I guess it was because it really wasn't an issue in the books.

A new one for the list - Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale in "Van Helsing".
