I wasn't complaining, just proudly exclaiming that I got your reference, as I did with this one too. Sorry if it came across that way. Awesome stuff.

Oh. Thank you. It's hard to tell sometimes with forums.

The hardest part is finding Batman Returns quotes that suit the characters - or, in the reverse, finding characters who suit the quotes of Batman Returns.

Do you want to see that happen?

In a twisted way, I do. Partially because I think they shortchanged the storyline by dropping Gwen Stacy from Spider-Man 1 (James Cameron's draft had her original storyline intact) and partially because I think Kirsten phoned in her performance in Spider-Man 2. I thought she was pretty dang good in the first movie, but two years of partying or something had clearly taken their toll by the second film. She didn't look as good, she didn't act as good, and in the end, I felt myself wondering why Peter bothered with her.

And I'm not supposed to be feeling that way towards her character.

Well you can only fit so much in - and Spider-Man's love life has been fairly muddled with interests ranging from Betty Brandt (Brant?) to MJ to Gwen to the Black Cat/Felicia Hardy. Of course, they probably feel obligated to have Spider-Man with Mary-Jane in the movies because she's the one he ultimately married, and they probably don't want it to seem like these movies come with disposable, throw-away love interests like with the Batman films made circa 1989-1997 and even the previous Batman Begins.

That and killing off the girlfriend with the whole throw her off a bridge thing might be a tough sell in a summer blockbuster film meant to appeal to the widest audience possible. You can imagine how hard a sell the girlfriend-in-the-refrigerator-syndrome (AKA: The Gwen Stacy Syndrome) in the movies.

Although I'm not a big fan of Kirsten Dunst's MJ either. I'd have rather had Laura Prepon in the part, except she's taller than Tobey Maguire.

Bizarre. But... If Austria denies his citizenship, he could change nationality and become the president! Just like Hitler did!
Arnold will be President. I know it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As long as Arnold doesn't have any of his past films altered with CGI I'll be happy.

Austria Turns on Arnold Schwarzenegger
Time
From IMDB news bytes -

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's refusal to grant former gang leader Stanley 'Tookie' Williams clemency has sparked outrage in his native Austria. On Monday, Schwarzenegger refused to overturn the Crips gang founder's death sentence, and he was executed in the early hours of yesterday morning. And his refusal to spare the life of Williams - who was convicted of killing four people - has sparked harsh criticism from people across Austria. Leaders of the country's opposition Green Party are calling for the Terminator star to be stripped of his Austrian citizenship - a demand rejected by Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel as "absurd" despite his government's opposition to the death penalty. And in Graz, Schwarzenegger's hometown, local Greens are planning to file a petition to remove Schwarzenegger's name from the city's Arnold Schwarzenegger Stadium. A Christian political group suggests it be renamed to honour Williams.

Crazy old world, eh?

What are you complaining about Rik? You are not a person. You are an employee, a number, a cog in the machine. There is no 'I' in team and if you don't like it we can easily find a money hungry young go-getter who would gladly devote his life to the company. Get with the program Rik.

There is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in meat pie, so take what you can get.

No way would Lucas have changed the scene then. He can get away with it because other than SW fans, who really knows who Sebastan Shaw is? If that was Charlton Heston, the hollywood press, would have exposed Lucas for changing an acting icon in his original movies, and Lucas would look stupid then.

I figured as much.

And Gaffer Tape, yeah, I think Sebastian Shaw was a respected stage veteran.
