That being said, this film is the first one written and directed by a Pixar 'outsider' (Brad Bird), and his fingerprints are all over it. Just compare the look of these characters with any of his other work (Family Dog, Iron Giant) and you'll see what I mean.

Here's an example:
Iron Giant

I can't get a good link to an Incredibles image, but if you've seen the movie, my point is clear.

Oh, he's definitely dead. The point that Rowling was trying to get across is that the dead are not far from us, as long as we remember them. It's a frequently occurring theme in the HP books (anyone remember the Mirror of Erised, which told us that while it's good to remember those who have passed on, we can't sit around obsessing over them?), with wizard picture taking techniques and such.

I figured it was time to throw this topic out there, since it was #1 @ the box office this weekend. For those who have seen it, what do you think? Given my current line of employment, I've seen about 1/2 and have to say, it is an amazing looking movie, with well rounded character portrayals and a distinctive look. I would also say that it's definitely for older kids and teens rather than the usual Pixar set, due to mature themes and the comic-boook style violence. Anyone else?
