Can you imagine Batman Forever in the Raimi style?

Yes. It would have been a better film. Schumacher is a competent director, but he lacks visual flair and style, and usually has to rely on his design staff to bring this to the production. With films like Falling Down, The Lost Boys and even The Phantom of the Opera, that's OK, but comic book films, to a certain extent, rely on the director having a vision beyond putting nipples on the Batsuit and actually understanding the roots of the comic book. Richard Donner's Superman worked because of Donner's commitment to verisimilitude. Batman and Batman Returns work because of Burton's commitment to bringing out the earlier, darker tones of the Batman comics. The Spider-Man films have worked so far because Sam Raimi's innate visual style resembles a comic book. Ang Lee tried to impose a comic-book style on The Hulk and was unsuccessful, because he's a director who generally works better with intimate human drama. Daredevil was a bloody mess because Mark Steven Johnson didn't "get" the character. The X-Man films so far work because Bryan Singer not only has great visual style; he made the effort to understand the comic before getting into the director's chair.

My Father-in-law is a store team trainer for Princess Auto, a surplus supply dealer. My mother-in-law works @ Wal-Mart. My father is a school custodian, and my mother is a school secretary. I think my in-laws are still annoyed that I dragged their daughter away from Southern Alberta; first to Edmonton, now to Regina. They almost never visit.

After you've switched it, all you have to do is get the appropriate power cord, which you can find at any computer supply store I had a friend come over from England with his Sony videocamera last year. Lucky for him, I have a Clie, so it was just a matter of plugging my power cord into his charger because the switching is done automatically inside the DC converter.

What I've heard is that the extended cut will actually be 1.85:1. Don't know if they're masking to do this or what. I'll wait for the reviews before I invest.
