If you want a really good read, go to the IGN article and follow the link to his interview from 2001 for the first release of Superman on DVD. There's some remarks on there that could be seen as cutting towards GL and his use of CG in the SEs. Donner's made his share of good and bad films, but at least he'll know when to quit.

Rap is like any other musical form: there's the good stuff and the crap. Personally, give me Public Enemy, OutKast, The Roots, Eminem, Digital Underground, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and a few others. Most gangsta stuff I can't stand. Snoop is hit-and-miss.

Yep. I generally prefer to go to Best Buy, HMV, Future Shop or anywhere other than Wal*Mart. BTW, that Wal*Mart exclusive of Corpse Bride in the US? It's a Future Shop exclusive here.

On the Dune front, my second copy played the EE skip free. I think it's a dodgy batch of discs.

In a word, yes. Flash Gordon (1980) is a prime example of being campliy self-aware. The screenplay was by Lorenzo Semple Jr., who knows from camp; he was head writer on the Batman TV series of the late 1960s. They chose Sam J. Jones based on his looks, and surrounded him with very talented actors, most of whom were in on the joke. The production values on the film were extremely high, which leads me to believe that Dino DeLaurentiis may not have been in on the joke.

Glad to hear he's OK. Reminds me of the time my daughter tried to carry my (then) newborn son up the stairs to my wife, who was in the bathroom. Again, no major injuries, but scary as hell and I was powerless to do anything because I was stuck @ work.
