CBS in the States, CBC in Canada (if my 25-year-old memories are correct). I remember thinking the special itself sucked, but that the Nelvana cartoon was cool.

I think Luke 30 is pointing to the fact that the vid clips in the new Rebel Strike game for Gamecube contain footage from the OT, not the SEs. There's a thread on this in the Star Wars Discussion thread.

Agreed, but the 7 years is not a guarantee. In one of the cases we studied in sentencing, some crafty lawyer tried to make the argument that except in cases of murder, no sentence should last longer than 20 years, since the offender would be out in 7 anyways. Supreme Court turned to the lawyer (who was defending a sex offender who had abused his own kids over an extended period of time and had been sentenced to 25 years) and pretty much said, "Just because he's eligible for parole in 7 years doesn't mean he's gonna get it," and reinstated the 25 year sentence. Loved that case.

Warner experimented with this a bit in the early days of VHS and Beta. They released a version of Superman that was time compressed, and it was a bloody mess. Most PAL videos and DVDs are also time compressed by 4%, because film is 24 fps and PAL video is 25fps, so they just ramp up the telecine to avoid annoying flicker problems.
