That poster came out before the 10th anniversary. I distinctly remember seeing it in a poster store in 1978.

The best way to get rid of cliches is either to acknowledge them with a wink, or to twist them. It seems to be the only way that Hollywood and the viewing audience gets the hint.

Warbler, did you see the Doctor Who movie that aired on Fox a few years back (might've been 10)? It was supposed to take place in the year 2000 and was an attempt at reviving the franchise.

I bought the Terminator SE when it first came out and paid under $20 for it. I appreciated the fact that MGM included the original mono track on the release, plus it came with nifty holographic cover art.

I've always found CTHV's gift sets to be extremely overpriced. Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Dark Crystal, etc. The only one I bought was Spider-Man, because it was cheaper than buying the movie and Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters and Marvels seperately.

Of course, it's only good news if the season actually happens. I'm so sick and tired of hearing about how hard done by the players are going to be if the lockout actually happens. The worst thing that will happen is that a strike will likely spell the death of the NHL as we know it. Unlike other professional sports, the NHL doesn't have a large fan base to begin with (compared with MLB, NFL and NBA); it can't afford to lose fans over a labour dispute.

Fiennes is an excellent choice. Although I wasn't impressed with Red Dragon overall (Manhunter is still the better adaptation of Thomas Harris' novel), Fiennes was easily the best performance in the film. The man can exude menace effortlessly.

Much as I loved the show, I just don't think its fanbase has the momentum to bring it back to life. The season DVD box sets aren't selling well, and I think the cancellation is just a little too fresh to bring any sort of "discovery" in the same way that the Family Guy movement did. Let it lie low for another year, then maybe people will rediscover it.

I doubt if Spielberg will rerelease E.T., although The Terminal bombed so spectacularly, he may have to do something.

It might've done better if he'd cast Schwarzenegger and called it The Terminal-nator.

I enjoyed Doctor Who for what it was. My favourite of the Doctors would have to be Tom Baker; he had the perfect blend of insanity and genius to play the role.

Leonard Nimoy's 2nd autobiography sheds some interesting light on the whole Spock dying situation. The death was to originally occur early in the film, but both Nick Meyer and Nimoy thought that wouldn't do the character justice. Harve Bennett was the one who designed the backdoor that enabled ST III to be made (the mind meld sequence), and it was Jeff Katzenberg who championed the idea of Nimoy directing III.
