Idea: 'Avatar - The Last Airbender' Pilot Project
Time

Hey,

As the last episode of this fantastic show has recently premierd. I was thinking recently regarding the pilot of this show. Though it premiered on a DVD, sadly they placed a mandatory commentary track over the actual episode.

So while your trying to watch and enjoy the pilot, you hear the director/producer chatting away. I was wondering, would it be possible to remove or lift the commentary from this episode and therby allowing viewers to watch the pilot episode as it was meant to be seen?

I know it cannot be done with 100% results, but I am sure with the right editing job, someone can produce a pretty good finished result.

Thanks

Thanks for encouragement. I've managed to get it to encode 99% through the first pass before the screen goes blank in the preview window. Ugh. Since my speakers went dead recently, my Batman vs Superman project is going to take a break for a little bit, so I can dedicate some computer time to trying again.

I found something on the time-line approximately where it stopped working that I thought might've bugged it, so I'll let everyone know today or tomorrow.

Were you able to fix this? Thanks, this project is very exciting!!

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
This is for anyone who can answer it:

Can someone just look at these two photos - these were posted back in March 07 in the OCPMovie CE 2.0 thread.

This photo:

http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/8455/comparisonvl4.jpg which has "Adywan's" version at the bottom (obviously)

and this photo by "Zion":

Maybe my monitor isn't calibrated or something, and this isn't a suggestion nor am I trying to delay the movie, BUT which version of this shot is more or less the correct one?

Again, maybe my monitor is just not calibrated correctly or maybe it is an old version of his work - but in one version the colours look un-naturally saturated and the other looks well natural?

Thanks and once more I AM NOT A TROLL just wondering for clarification.

This scene:

Hope you dont mind another question, but where is this come from:

http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/2535/star20destroyer20attackfc7.jpg

Interesting stuff:

"A whole chunk of major deletions mark the beginning of the film as seen on Tatooine, immediately after the scene of Vader's arrival on the Death Star. In an early deleted sequence, Darth Vader was to contact Luke through the Force on Tatooine. This led into a deleted dream sequence involving Luke.

In another shot, deleted from the beginning of the film, we see the landing area for the Falcon and Luke's X-Wing in the Tatooine desert. In a nearby cave, (not Ben's hut like in the ROTJ novel) Luke finishes his new lightsaber and places it inside R2-D2 along with the message for Jabba.

This scene was partially completed but never finished. It contained no dialogue, but the music that was to accompany this sequence was written and appears on the ROTJ SE soundtrack."

Q: A cut scene that people often refer too is the opening scene in ROTJ where Luke constructs a new lightsaber and hides it in R2. Was this scene actually filmed and what do you remember about it?

A: Oh yes, we nearly filmed that. I helped write that scene. We were going to film it right at the very end. The first scene we did was an exterior shot as though you were in a cave looking out, so in the studio you'd have the outside with me as it were standing guard. Scary thought. Whilst on the inside Luke Skywalker was making a new lightsaber. So we actually shot the exterior of that, and then in the end there was no time. It was like "You get a lightsaber anyway" So we left it at that.

The Beginning: Making 'Episode I': A comedy masterpiece
Time
I think the WORST of AOTC is when Anakin was kissing Padme after giving us "sand is coarse" speech and the music is going and then everything stops:

"ANAKIN kisses PADMÉ. She doesn't resist. She comes to her senses and pulls away.
PADMÉ: No, I shouldn't have done that.
ANAKIN: I'm sorry. When I'm around you, my mind is no longer my own.
He looks at her."

Such drivel, just looking at Hayden's facial reaction is freaking hillarious since its so bad.
and this was on par:

"ANAKIN: You are so beautiful!
PADME: It's only because I'm so in love . . .
ANAKIN: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
PADME: So love has blinded you?
ANAKIN: Well, that's not exactly what I meant . . .
PADME: But it's probably true!
They laugh.
ANAKIN: I haven't laughed in so long . . .
PADME: Neither have I."

Just think, this could have been the conversation in "Empire Strikes Back" with Han and Leia.

Another thing that disappointed me to no end was the scene in ROTS where Dooku is close to being killed by Anakin's two lightsabers. If anyone has heard the Book-on-tape of the ROTS novel, the scene was just perfect, you really feel and understand the tremendous emotions going through Dooku's head since he finally has found out that he was being duped the entire time by Sidious/Palp.

You get NOTHING in the movie, just one nervous glance. And then two seconds later, Anakin is already saying ~ "I shouldn't have done that".

No end to what was wrong with the PT. The only thing the PT did for me was to put "Star Wars" in perspective.

Jambe, what do you think your most prized find in all of the three SW docs you are doing?

and what was the closest you got to to the ROTJ deleted scene where Luke makes a new lightsaber?

PS: You know of that photo, where you just see two legs and in between you see a person with a gun, is that an actual filmed scene or just concept art? And if it was a filmed scene, what did it contain?

Thanks, really appreciate it!!!

Sent another, did you recieve them? I hope I did it correctly.

Reference:

"There’s a TV special showing a behind-the-scenes look at the battle scene on Hoth, the painstaking art of stop-motion animation. I hear something about a new character being performed by Frank Oz."
