i thought the 2.x versions of Despecialized were already GOUT-free. I'm pretty sure of the 2.5 version.

the whole reason I want him back is because I feel he genuinely deserves another shot at this role.
Friends, try for a moment to envision the inevitable scene that will take place (if this rumor is true) involving a spectral Hayden Christensen speaking to (or about) Adam Driver, saying something along the lines of "don't go down that path I traveled all those years ago." Are you recoiling in horror? Good. That is the correct response.
I don't really see how this scene could be a bad thing. If the writing is good enough any bad idea can be made good.
Well, my hope is that they will try to make good ideas great instead of trying to make bad ideas good...
It's not really a bad idea to begin with. If Luke were to tell Kylo Ren about the dangers of the Darkside you people would have no problem with it. But because one strand from the prequels would be in the ST then suddenly the idea is shit. Let me ask...who would know most about how toxic the Darkside is? Anakin of course seeing as how he was engulfed in it for decades. I don't see any reasoning for that being a bad idea other than "its bad because prequels"
It's a terrible idea that force ghosts are around for such a long time. When Yoda died, Luke was the last of the jedi, having eternal force ghosts would just take away from his importance as a Jedi master.
I don't see how that would be less work or cheaper than just scanning the ON or IP or a technicolor print. They already have these prints somewhere, why not use them? Just because "it's Di$ney" doesn't mean they will screw it up on purpose, especially if this way would be more expensive than the proper way.
The film being "focus grouped garbage" is a major spoiler, you can't post that here.

They still don't suck to me. I still enjoy them.
Then make your own thread about that. Or even better, post in this thread. Here is not the place for it. "When did you realize the Prequels sucked?" is for people who think that the prequels sucked and to discuss when this realization happened, not for discussing wether or not they sucked.
To not be completely off topic: It took me longer than I'd like to admit, maybe a year after ROTS. I always liked the OT much more than the PT, but it said Star Wars in the title so I kind of had to like it. I don't think there was a definite event that made me not like them anymore, I just lost interest over time and when I came back I couldn't stand them anymore.
This can't be posted too often, it's brilliant.
See the link that says "clicking here"? Right click on it and choose "save as" and save it. Worked for me just now.

Patience. Use the force. Think.
Who thought it would be a good idea to put the explosion of the death star on the poster? It spoils the ending of the movie...
Just like Anakin is a name, or Mon, Biggs, Wedge, or even Darth. "Hey have you met Darth Smith and his wife Mon? They have a kid, too, he's called Wedge." Your argument makes perfect sense.
Maybe the blu-rays were part of the deal to give Disney the digital distribution rights earlier. Disney gets a digital release, so Fox gets a physical release.

uggg ... I'm a SWs guy, definitely not a trekie. Haven't even seen those trek films. (probably never will)
I've actually not seen super 8 either, and have become bored with the M.I. series. (which I definitely wouldn't call classics in any sense) So I guess I can't comment on any of your examples.
To which of his movies are you referring then, when you haven't seen half of what he's done? How can you say he never directed a sci-fi movie when he made three of them?

Trust us, Star Trek is sci-fi.
Team Olie
ST may be sci-fi, but it's not "good" sci-fi. (IMHO)
Many people think otherwise, while Star Wars is sometimes not even classified as sci-fi, because it lacks the aspect of how technology influences a society. Instead, it fits better in the fantasy genre.

Yeah, do you have interviews where Carrie describes Vader? When she confronts him for the first time, she could say something like: "Darth Vader, I have recognized your helmet."
Or she could tell Han: "I have recognized your walking carpet when I was brought on board."
Language note (if you don't mind):
You wouldn't use "have" in either of those cases; in the second, because there's a specific point in time given (when I was brought on board). I'm not really sure why it isn't right in the first one (perhaps because a specific time of recognition would be implied by the context), but it's awkward there as well.
Be sure to let me know if you'd rather I just keep my mouth shut next time. ;)
No problem, I'm happy to learn.
Then I propse Frink may make it like this: "Darth Vader, I recognized your helmet." And: "I recognized your walking carpet when I was brought on board."

In this interview around minute 23, Mark Hamill says Han's line "Great kid, now don't get cocky". You could use it to switch the roles of Luke and Han in the scene and make Han the rookie.
Earlier in the interview around minute 18, there's Carry Fisher delivering a funnily awkward version of the "foul stench" line. And just before that, Mark is saying the original "foul stench" line, maybe you could use that when he enters the Falcon or the cantina.
Btw, make Leia recognize everyone by their foul stench.
Well, with all the story related inconsitencies between the PT and the OT, I have given up the idea of a unified Star Wars saga, so having even more inconsitencies doesn't bother me that much.
Really? Apart from the Millenium Falcon being called "Rasender Falke" in Star Wars and "Millenium Falke" in Empire and Jedi (which is only a minor change), I never noticed any inconsitencies.
Also, the German version of Raiders of the Lost Ark was lately redubbed for the blu-ray and from what I heard, people aren't very happy with that. So I doubt that redubbing the whole Star Wars saga would turn out well.
Attention, attention, Disney now more evil than Lucas, Star Wars ruined forever, fan edits classified as high treason, generalfrevous ends up being right.
Thankfully, we all die soon because of global warming, so we don't have to live without the OOT for too long.
Are these AT-AA's with guns for their heads?

Not that it makes any difference, but if they were going for a villain on each Blu-ray cover, it should have gone:
Maul
Dooku
Grevious
Tarkin
Vader
Emperor
I thought the exact same thing.

So is there any actual new stuff (i.e., previously unseen) on the steelbook Blu discs, or is it just a completely shameless money grab with no redeeming value whatsoever?
in the news article they say "previously-released extensive special features", so no, nothing new.

Has anyone else noticed the file layout of the ANH blu-ray.
It's kind of interesting (as much as a file layout can be, at least), that the film is encoded entirely in one m2ts, except for the intro. Everything up through the crawl, until the final frame of the flyover, is in a separate file.
Is there an obvious reason they might have done that? Or is it possible that they were considering an alternatively branched crawl? Not quite sure what the point would have been for the latter, sticking the 1977 crawl on a screwy version of the film.
Just thought it was kind of interesting that an important branching/splicing point for both fan editing and the film's history was utilized for some reason here.
Maybe crawls for different languages? I can't remember if the alien subtitles are still on the picture, though, if they were changed to "regular" subtitles, the crawl would be the only thing that they would need to change for a different dub.
I think I'll get some pizza rolls.
Now seriously, the Plinkett review is adressing the same thing in the context of the prequels. I agree with that.
