For a while, I’ve been on the fence about saying this, but to heck with it.

During the scene where Padme reveals to Anakin that she’s preggers, intercut a short flashback of them doing the devil’s tango.

Be sure to add careless whisper to that flashback for good measure.

This isn’t the good ideas thread. Lol.

Is every idea I come up with supposed to be part of the good ideas thread now?

Well, in that case, fine. You win. Here’s the official best edit ever, as recommended by you folks.

Make Star Wars an anime.

Add a steamy lovemaking scene between Anakin and Padme that features the song Careless Whisper.

Have this be the ending to Episode III.

Replace Princess Leia’s “Hope” line from Rogue One with this:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XeDM1ZjMK50

Insert a wet spot of Palpatine’s crotch every time he gets to witness something evil.

Definitely replace “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away” with “Space: the final frontier.”

Have the Sith (and the empire, too) sing Gilbert and Sullivan while everyone else talks normally.

Add Palpatine’s “Power! Unlimited Power!” line to ROTJ when he’s zapping Luke.

Have Darth Vader sing Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” before he dies in ROTJ.

Replace all footage of Darth Vader with YouTube videos of cute, adorable bunny rabbits.

…And finally…

Add this to the ending of TROS when Rey hears all the voices of the Jedi:

With all of these changes combined, we now have the best edit ideas ever created. Inappropriate for this thread, I know. But then again, so are all of my ideas on this thread. I hope these changes have inspired many fan editors, and that they will continue to influence other fan editors in the future.

…And while I’m at it, I suppose it might be a good idea to show what the color grade looks like with the exposure levels reset. I’ll only show a still of the opening shot since I don’t want to overwhelm everyone with a zillion more examples.

Here’s what the color grade looked like before I reset the exposure levels:
Exposure Level Correction I_1 5 1

…And here’s what the color grade looks like now:
Exposure Level Correction II_1 5 2

I’ve picked this shot as an example because of how dark the image is, and to show just how much detail was lost when I lowered the exposure levels. In the top example, you’ll notice how hard it is to see the darker parts of the ship, while in the bottom example, those details are easier to notice.

Feeling much better today. I think I will start work on the sound editing and remove as many unwanted lines and droid dialogue as possible. That should be enough for a workprint. I’m not sure how long exporting the workprint is gonna take, but I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to send it out to Captain Faraday in the next 12 or so hours.

Just got sick today. I’m trying not to exert too much energy until I heal, so I decided to get the crawl rendered instead of watching the color grade (trying to decide if I want to analyze the grading, as I tend to feel worse if I interact with electronics too long when I’m sick). It’s a time-consuming process that only requires me to click a few buttons and that’s it. I’ll work on getting better for the time being. My hope is that I’ll be back on my feet by tomorrow or the day after. I’m not going to say that the edit is being delayed yet, but I do have to take things slower until I feel better.

Just gave the edit a glance. I realized I made a mistake in lowering the exposure levels. I was trying to give the movie a more cinematic look, but I ended up clipping the black levels. I’m resetting the exposure levels back to 0 right now. The only exception being the white levels, as they still have a clipping problem. So, I will lower the exposure of the white levels slightly to fix the clipping issue.

If I find any other issues, I’ll post another update. For now, I’m going to work on the exposure levels, which should be fixed by tonight or tomorrow.

This is supposed to be the worst ideas, not the best ideas.

Maybe in your universe, this is true, but according to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, there are multiple universes. Not just yours. My universe declared this edit idea of Anakin and Obi-Wan becoming a gay couple at the last second as one of the worst ever. So, please have some humility and be considerate of the other universes posting on this thread.

As promised, here’s some screencaps showing the slight alteration I’ve made to fix some slight reddish tints to the brightest parts of the color grading. Once again, top is before, bottom is after.

Pay close attention to the sky in this one, since it shows the most dramatic change.

Red Cast Corrections Part I_1 47 7

Red Cast Corrections Part I_1 47 8

Next, here’s a shot of the jedi temple.

Red Cast Corrections Part I_1 64 1

Red Cast Corrections Part I_1 64 2

The hallway in this shot, I feel, shows considerable improvement.

Red Cast Corrections Part I_1 66 1

Red Cast Corrections Part I_1 66 2

The lights in this cap look better too.

Red Cast Corrections Part III_1 66 3

Red Cast Corrections Part III_1 66 4

Look at the sunlight closely in this cap.

Red Cast Corrections Part I_1 72 1

Red Cast Corrections Part I_1 72 2

Here’s a cap of one of the deleted scenes I’m adding in. Mon Mothma’s white suit looks a little different in this shot.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 80 1

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 80 2

Here’s some more of that same deleted scene. Much like the first screencap, the skyline shows a major difference.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 80 3

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 80 4

Here’s another skyline cap from one of the few remaining shots of Kashyyyk.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 81 1

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 81 2

Another skyline cap. This time, with Anakin.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 81 3

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 81 4

The ship in the background shows a noticeable improvement.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 82 1

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 82 2

Ditto for this one.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 82 3

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 82 4

This cap, I’m not so sure about. I might go back and re-adjust it some more.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 83 1

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 83 2

Same with this cap. Not sure what it is about this particular scene, but the blue looks off for some reason.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 83 3

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 83 4

Here’s a screencap of Grievous. This cap is subtle, but the difference is there.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 96 1

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 96 2

And finally, let’s finish this off with a cap from the Utapau battle.

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 101 1

Red Cast Corrections Part II_1 101 2

So, hopefully, all of this will give you a rough idea for what the brighter parts of the image will look like. I know this color grading is taking a lot longer than my previous two, but I’m doing what I can (in between work shifts and major life changes) to get it finished.

During ‘Revenge of the Sith,’ there can be the following conversation.

PADME:
Obi-Wan, tell me what’s going on.

OBI-WAN:
Palpatine is the Phantom Menace we’ve been looking for. He caused the Attack of the Clones on the Jedi to bring about the Revenge of the Sith.

PADME:
That means he’s been behind these Star Wars the whole time…

So that’s it? What? We some kind of Phantom Menace?
