Sounds lame. Lucas would probably have any statements critical of the SEs & PT removed/edited so as to make everything homogenous, bland, and sycophantic.

Yet another reason I laugh at those completist losers who think the EU is compatible with Lucas' craptastic saga.

I enjoyed the Marvel storylines up until after the events of ROTJ unfolded; from there the series became just incredibly meh for me. The Empire was defeated too easily, the Nagai/Toff storyline was poorly done, and the Shira Brie/Lumiya character was basically wasted.

If they were to adapt Shadows of the Empire into a film I'd prefer it to be animated - using traditional animation, of course - with the original actors from the films returning to reprise their roles.

I watched the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers last night. Not a great movie, but decent and I'd probably watch it again.

 IMO the idea of Palpatine using a lightsaber was portrayed in DE better than it was in the PT. The reborn Palpatine only used the lightsaber because he got off on the idea of defeating a Jedi with a Jedi's weapon and not because he relied on one. Not so with Palps in the PT; Lucas just gave him a lightsaber to make the fantards orgasm.

My first reaction was bewilderment. My second rationalization (that utterly failed to work for me, needless to say).

Pretty much all the alterations you wouldn't notice right off the bat I'm fine with - though I still find them unnecessary.

And the "new improved" Wampa doesn't really bother me either. Thank God Lucas didn't use CGI to create it.

 And this is exactly the reason why I can't stand the current EU. Prequelisms - everywhere. It doesn't matter if the story takes place in the distant past or into the far future, if it's warranted or not, there has to be a reference to something spawned from the PT.

Does every Sith have to dress like a Goth and carry a red lightsaber? Does every Jedi have to dress like a desert hermit? Do children have to be called "younglings"? No, absolutely not. But 100.99% of all the EU writers are sycophants who can't - won't - let us forget about that godforsaken PT.

If only the fantards would wisen up and stop lapping up this BS. Then - and perhaps only then - this madness would come to an end ... or at least be played down.

I think Path of Destruction is the best book in the Bane trilogy ... which isn't saying much.

I downloaded it, but haven't read it yet. With all that illegible handwriting scribbled in the margins, though, I'm not exactly looking forward to the task.

 Well, I guess I should say it wasn't a jazz score, per se, but it had some jazzy elements in places. As for which version it was ... not sure. I saw it on YouTube.

I read Dracula last summer. I thought the novel started off strong, but after the Demeter section of the book it started going downhill from there, moving at a painfully slow pace with the countless blood transfusions, Van Helsing's irritating broken English, etc.

Also saw Nosferatu - the original version - last summer. Love, love, love the Orlok makeup. Of course, the plot was all over the place, the vampire book was a deus ex machina, and the ending was lacklustre. And don't get me started on the jazzy score, which more often than not didn't even go with the actions happening on-screen.

Oh, I'd definately like to see the EU rebooted, especially the PT/NJO/Legacy era EU, or at least have some alternate continuities created to run alongside the main EU.

Of course, I doubt it's going to happen (at least not for anytime soon). Not only are the EU writers just a bunch of ass-kissing sycophants, but the fans are as well. There was even a discussion on this very topic on theforce.net, and most of the posters there said they were dead set against having anything Star Wars that existed outside the main continuity (they actually think allowing someone to write an alternate PT, NJO, etc. would result in the main EU being rebooted. Don't ask me why they think that, though. Their reasoning sucks.)
