"I am wondering.....why are you here?"

Why is this place so different?  Other than the obvious (desire for OT), why is this the place of choice for open, intelligent Star Wars discussions?

This forum is not as strictly moderated as the more "official" forums, and freedom of speech is given more than simple lip service. On OT.com you don't feel as if you're closed in like you would on TFN; there's no oppressive feeling that you've got to keep to a narrow path, all the while holding your breath, and that should you ever deviate the slightest bit from that path or take in a full breath of air a pack of ravenous wolves will bring you down and tear you to shreds.

That's the way I feel, anyway.

How many of you watch the Clone Wars series regularly and what do you think of it?

The fact there is an EU character Lucas loathes makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!

The fact that Lucas knows about any EU character astounds me.

That being said, it's ironic that the creator of Jar Jar Binks finds The Jolly Green Bugs irritating enough to despise him; cognitive dissonance and double standards cloud the Flanneled One's vision once again.

When they were attractive you mean.

I did say "back in the day" ;-)

Have you seen pictures of them lately, yuck age is not a kind thing.

And neither is drugs.

Carrie indeed aged horribly - she looks like an old, wrinkly munchkin. Stevie, on the other hand, seems to have aged more-or-less well - she's no spring chicken, though.

Have I missed anything?

He's also one of the founders of the Jedi Order and the inventor of the lightsaber. The reason he's still alive after all these countless centuries is because, as the Jedi who prophesied the coming of the Chosen One, the Force deemed he must remain alive until the day the prophecy came to pass. He died shortly after giving Luke the necessary info on how to recreate the Jedi Order.

George Lucas on Special effects and filmaking during making of ROTJ

First off,to the fans of Godzilla, umm how many sites are dedicated to this "gem" of film making?? Give me a break! I'm hoping that sarcasm was your aim with stating that pile of crap was better than the PT.

Anyone who can make a film like Stargate is leaps and bounds beyond post-inspired George.

Every time I see CG Snootles make that stupid pirouette or utter "uh oh" as Oola falls into the rancor pit an overwhelming desire to splatter her plastic brains all over the walls takes me; she's as bad as Jar Jar at his worst.

She was portrayed as a scheming backstabbing little hussy on The Clone Wars recently. Her voice was like nails on a chalkboard to me. Add that to the fact she's killed my favorite villain on the show, makes me glad she probably was on Jabba's sail barge when it blew! ;)

You're not gonna like this ...

The [Max Rebo] band played at Jabba's Palace during Luke Skywalker's attempt to free Han Solo and later played at their execution over the Great Pit of Carkoon. The band barely escaped the catastrophe that followed, jumping to safety as the Sail Barge blew apart.

Had the incongruities been ironed out of the film's method of time travel, and the film run longer, I'd probably agree.

Just out of curiosity... in what ways do you think the method of time travel was incongruous?

Everytime Guy Pearce went back in time to save his girlfriend, his past version was nowhere to be found.

My High School Experience Sucked

Not that I would have graduated anyway; in this stupid part of Canuckistan you can't graduate without raking up points from doing some 24-odd hours of work experience first.

Doesn't sound so bad. Here in California there are lots of kids who graduate, are not college bound, and don't even know what an honest day of work looks like.

When you suffer from social anxiety disorder and your own parents are too indifferent to encourage you to go for it, it does get that bad.

Canuckistan, are you referring to Canada? So you didn't graduate high school because of a girl? How's life going? Would you mind elaborating on this story, sounds tasty.

It's a bittersweet tale of 3½ years of unrequited love which cuminated in a rejected marriage proposal, vandalism of public property, and a week's stay in the hospital to guage my psychological state.

Sufficit to say, I am now a wiser person; all delusional thoughts of romance have been quashed inside me and I now hate 99% of chick flicks with a fiery passion.
