When you say you hate atheism, you are essentially saying that you hate disbelief in gods.

Essentially, I am saying I hate the very concept that God(s) do not exist. If there is a defining term for the concept - rather than the adherence to the concept itself - I'd like to know what it is if it'll make my position clearer.

Well, it's not unlike what happened with Batman Begins. Christopher Nolan didn't know Batman all that well, but it didn't matter since he had David Goyer helping him come up with the story and write the screenplay.

I guess this is the cue for me to bring up my intense disatisfaction with Nolan's take on Batman ...

Abrams' main weakness to Trekkies, and it is significant, is that he doesnt know a thing about the Star Trek Universe.

Now this is something I'll never understand. Why has Abrams been handed the reins of Star Trek when he doesn't even understand the universe? Forgive my ignorance - I haven't seen the film myself - but that just sounds completely stupid to me.

I'd maintain that the vast majority of atheists are also agnostics (Leo, clearly, not being of this group), and that the vast majority of agnostics are also atheists. Fink doesn't believe in a god, though he'd call himself agnostic, he is technically an atheist. In the same way, most atheists will admit that they cannot disprove god or know 100% for sure that a god or god like being doesn't exist, which effectively makes them agnostic on the situation. Ultimately, agnostic is kind of a redundant term. You either believe or you don't believe. If you say, "I don't know for sure, but I don't think so." Then you don't believe. If you say, "I don't know for sure, but I think so." Then you believe. I suppose agnosticism could be reserved for those who just don't care enough to even bother thinking about it in the first place.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be labelled an atheist - or an agnostic atheist, for that matter - even though I suppose I do meet your criteria, for the simple reason being that I don't like atheism - in fact, I hate it* - and don't want to be associated with it.

*JFTR, my hatred for atheism doesn't extend to atheists themselves.

What actor/actress would you like to see in new Star Wars Movies?
Time

Ignoring my previous silly post above to take on a serious note, I'd like to say I'd like to see

Bruce Campbell (because he's awesome)

Tom McCamus (he's far from famous, but damn, the guy's good)

Heather Langenkamp (let's just say I've taken a liking to her in the past three days)

all in new SW movies. Campbell can be a rogueish Talon Karrde type character, McCamus a villiainous Thrawn-like character, while Langenkamp ... hmmm ... I see her as a very maternal figure, so she could be anything from a Mon Mothmaesque character to a powerful Jedi Mistress (I'm coining that term officially as of NOW).

So, for the non-believers, do you truly 100% accept/believe/swear as fact that your ancestors were ape creatures? Why or why not?

No, because I could be wrong. Sure, legitimate scientists are coming to legitimate conclusions based on legitimate observations made through the use of legitimate methods. That all means squat, though, if a capricious deity just planted that evidence to deceive us, or if the entire universe as we know it is just an incredible simulation masking a completely alien reality beyond our understanding.

When going in to see this film I had the pretty disappointing Burton Alice in Wonderland floating around in the back of my mind. So I wasn't expecting much out of the film other than pretty scenery. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a pretty entertaining film. I'd definitely have to say Sam Raimi has redeemed himself after the mess that was Spider-Man 3. Sadly, my compatriots decided to catch it in 2D so now we'll be going back in again tomorrow to catch it again.

It doesn't sound like a film I'd be that interested in, but knowing Burton has nothing to do with it sure is music to my ears regardless.
