Version 2.0 is a fantastic album.
I prefer the eponymous debut, myself.

"The heat’s getting to me. I’ll murder you momentarily. But first, I need a cold drink of ice water."
Don’t you know? If you don’t like everything Zerome likes 110%, you’re Mrs. Lincoln.
Very much agreed, Anchorhead.
This next episode will be a true test. They’re going to go visit Rosa Parks. Will they be historically accurate, or will there be a lot of revisionism? I’m going to guess a bit of revisionism.
What do you mean?
I’m guessing the show will greatly simplify the situation, playing into the great myth you’re taught in elementary school. The great Rosa Parks was the one who said no on a whim, and it is all because of her that buses were integrated here in the US. The historical context is a lot more complex and complicated, and interesting. I’m assuming the episode will have the Doctor try to convince her to go through with it, with no mention of those more interesting elements as they go against the prevailing legend.
Really, if we’re going to have an episode where Rosa Parks is hesitant to go through with it, I want a dialogue like this:
Rosa: “Well, they don’t need me, there are others–”
Doctor: “Yes, there are others, and there have been others. But your actions here will reach beyond them. Someone as well liked, someone so innocent, to go through the horrors of your society, will resonate far beyond Alabama. No one else will look as righteous to the nation.”Or something to that effect. Basically I want there to be some recognition that Rosa Parks was not the only one who was courageous in that situation, that she did not do it on a whim (She and Colvin were both active members of the NAACP), and that the black leadership in Montgomery, Alabama wanted her to do it for the reasons stated above, as they would not be able to gain the sympathies of the courts, whites, and the middle class with Colvin, a poor, pregnant teenager. This in no way minimizes the bravery and injustice Parks endured, but it is the way it happened.
“I’m not disappointed,” Colvin said. “Let the people know Rosa Parks was the right person for the boycott. But also let them know that the attorneys took four other women to the Supreme Court to challenge the law that led to the end of segregation.”
But maybe this is too much to ask for from Doctor Who.
So much for giving it a chance eh Warbler, Handman and co?
And how was the drive, Miss Daisy?
I just like to jest regardless.
Likewise. 😛
see, the electoral college serves no purpose at this point, except that of keeping the system going the same way it’s always been. which is a conservative principle. imo the electoral college sucks.
Spoken like an untrue 'Murican.
uses the proper temperature units
Methinks 'Murica needs more than two major parties.
I was watching Monday Night Football tonight. At halftime, they had a band play a song. The name of the band: Garbage. Why would anyone name their band, Garbage?
Irony.
Also, I think it perplexing that you’ve never heard of this band before now.
I can’t know what colour I most prefer until I taste the whole rainbow.
Also, that well-done steak looks nothing like the steak my family’s always cooked. It looks far too moist.
I’ve done #1 & #2. Next time, I try for #3.
I’ve never had duck outside of a jerky stick but I’ve always been curious.
Tastes quite good, but it’s a bitch to cook (lots ‘n’ lots of fat) and there’s not much meat.
Kenkraly2007 should return.
I, too, had steak (again) — rare this time instead of extra-rare — with hummus and day-old French bread.
Not DVD/BD cover art, but terrible just the same.
the Gungians and we can be friends.
My problem is that over the last few years prior to TFA I read complaints EVERYWHERE about the lack of originality in the movie industry, then along comes TFA, which is another unoriginal movie, and people are perfectly fine with it.
You must live in a different universe than I.
Sometimes I don’t think I know you anymore.
It’s me, dahmage!
As if pod-persons have never said this ever.
Glad to hear you’re doing better.
You are NOT Bud-Light. You are a well crafted brew. And while it can be depressing seeing those lame blue cans fly off the shelves while you sit and wait, remember that those cans are going home with terribly boring people with horrible taste.
I love this analogy. 😃
No one cares about this country’s stupid ant
The Doctor has seen too much to believe in any one
Back in 2005/2006, I remember catching parts of an old serial on TV. It was from the '30s/'40s, and it involved some mad scientist/lost civilization operating out of an African jungle, using science to turn ordinary tribal villagers into these hulking, simple-minded brutes. I recall that the brutes were all played by the same black actor, and at least one of the chapters featured a group of old black men who had been transformed into old white men.
Found it. It’s The Lost City.
Ooh, I hope Doctor Who becomes Chris
