Think about any movies you have voted for online at a site like RT or IMDB. I imagine that, for the most part, you have only bothered to rate movies that you liked or disliked a great deal. Few actually take the time for a movie unless they simply really loved or despised it or were prompted to do so in an actual poll (the latter being far more accurate and scientific).

Actually, as soon as I'm finished watching a movie/short film/TV show/TV episode, I log into IMDb right away to give it a rating, regardless of how much or how little I liked it. For whatever reason, I like keeping track of everything I've seen and how much I valued it at the time I watched it.

Oh, and yes, Frink, you have my blessing to use that nerd gif on me, now; I've more than earned it.

This film remains out of print, and hard to find. A very poor copy is on YouTube. It's mistitled as "Missing Link - 2013 Full Movie HD". It's not from 2013, and it most certainly is not presented in HD.

When you find YouTube links like these, half the time they're

A. Bogus videos with nothing in them except links to other movie sites.

B. Completely different movies that have been deliberately misidentified for whatever stupid reason (Possibly to inflate the posters' weak egos by increasing the number of views their channels have received.).

btw I've seen that ^ Lichenstein paiting close-up and it's stunning. Every dot that makes up the colour you see from a distance has been carefully arranged, and painted onto the canvas with millimetre precision. There is nothing "crude" about it.

I consider it crude compared to the original image. Of course, that's just my own subjective opinion.

Godzilla (1998)

King of Monsters... EAT SOMEONE DAMMIT!

Awww... Godzilla doesn't wanna hurt anyone... he's so sweet. What a load of bollocks. This movie is okay, but I expect any giant lizard that takes up the mantle of Godzilla to be a frickin' badass. Godzilla is an allegorical monster that represents the evils of nuclear destruction... or so I'm told. Where is the wanton destruction, the atomic fire breathing, the picking up of trains and devouring of passengers within? Where is the terror? This dude just wants to eat fish and run away. The majority of destruction comes from the dumb-ass military that destroy their own city trying to shoot the creature; even Godzilla's rampage at the end is only in retaliation for the death of his offspring, giving the audience no reason to cheer for the death of this pathetic giant iguana. Worth watching if only for the reasonable CGI and the scene where Jean Reno pretends to be an American soldier. 5/10relationship between Melanie and Lydia is obviously supposed to involve tension but is never adequately explored or given spark. Reviewers saying that the movie holds up today are either squinting from behind rose-coloured glasses or have their film student hats on too tight. 5/10

Whenever someone mentions Godzilla '98, I immediately think of Godzilla: The Series, the animated TV spinoff; it's far, far better than the lameass movie itself.

And Then There Were None (1945) - I haven't posted my LMS in awhile, thought I'd pick it back up. Has anyone else seen this film? It is great. A

The ONLY good version of Christie's best novel. And even it makes some changes.

Are you saying you don't like the '60s version with the overbearing jazz score or the '80s version with Frank Stallone? ;-)

My impression of Vader in the OT is that's he mostly a cool customer. He doesn't lash out unless somebody screws up carrying out his orders, or mocks the Force. And even Force choking Motti betrays a sick twisted sense of humor.

Yeah, he strangled that rebel at the beginning of the first movie, but that was part of the job.

It's what makes his turning on the Emperor in Jedi so good.

My thoughts exactly. Vader's not a sadist like Palpatine -- he doesn't relish inflicting pain or seeing others suffer; everything he does he feels he does for the greater good, regardless of how brutal or distasteful it may be.

It's hard for me to sympathize with Vader or see him as someone worthy of redemption when the EU characterizes him as a mustache-twirling supervillain.

This song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8WZ-Ba-gps

has to be the worst '80s song I've ever heard.

Technically, there are worse songs out there -- almost all mainstream music made in the last two decades immediately comes to mind -- but the component elements of this song just come together in a way that is just embarrasingly, epically bad. The instrumentation is beyond godawful and the lyrics are freshly squeezed shit.

Ironically, I'd probably hate this song less if the singer herself was horrible, but she's actually pretty good, which just makes the suck surrounding her stand out that much more.

You need to listen to more 80s music if you think thats the worst LOL. It's written by living-genius Prince by the way. Any song that has a lady inviting the listener to "Come inside my sugar walls" can't be all bad ;-)

I admit that my opinion may have been coloured by the stories I read about her adopting an American accent to deliberately disassociate herself from her Scottish roots; I tend to dislike people who forsake their heritage.

Regardless, it's still an incredibly dumb song. =P

To be fair, I've never read a Star Wars book before (except for the 1976 "Star Wars" book based on Lucas's script, but that doesn't really count) so maybe if I was actually interested in the EU I'd feel differently about all this.

Not necessarily. I like -- even love -- a sizeable portion of the EU, but I still reject the official canon nonsense. Hell, it's probably my love for those stories which is why I reject the canon nonsense; I wouldn't be able to enjoy the Tales of the Jedi comics, the Marvel comics, the Thrawn Trilogy, etc. if I had to reinterpret them into fitting the PT and the prequelized junk that followed.

I was looking up the name of the actor who played Owen in the PT on Wookieepedia, and I happened to stumble upon this image:

Yeah, so apparently not only did Vader personally give the order for the stormtroopers on Tatooine to execute Owen and Beru -- an idea which in and of itself is dumb -- but he personally witnessed it happen through hologram.

BULL, MOTHERFUCKING, HORSESHIT!

Suffice it to say, I hate this -- I hate this stupid contrived rectal ulcer A LOT. I hate it so much, I'm adding it to my personal non-canon, and a personal non-canon is something I hadn't even conceived of let all alone had prior to typing this post.
