Ways to Do the Prequels with No Spoilers for the OT.

I've been thinking some more about this and, personally, if I were George Lucas, there are two major things I'd have done differently.

Firstly, I would have kept the first movie's title simply as STAR WARS. no added episode number later, the sequels are simply called THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI.

Secondly, I would have told the stories of the prequels with a trilogy of books... That way, you get to know how and why Anakin Skywalker turned to the dark side, you hear all about The Clone Wars, and you get to picture the characters however you want to. There aren't so many disappointments when the actors chosen don't match the images we've had in our heads for the characters.

AND... For any newbies, or those who only watch the films... There are NO SPOILERS!!! :)

This solves the problem in my mind... I'll probably get blasted for saying it, but there you go.  If other films had to be made they could've been about another group of characters. Stand alone stories, completely unrelated to the STAR WARS TRILOGY...

Just imagine the front covers of those books... Anakin and Obi-Wan shown as younger versions of Alec Guinness and Sebastian Shaw!!

I think if Lucas had done this, instead of making them movies, he could have stayed truer to the original ideas he had and, therefore, he would have been able to tell a far better story, it could have been a true epic and even become one of the great sci-fi book series of all time!!!

I'me getting pretty overexcited thinking about this here... Lol

I'd have loved to see this though!!! I'd love to hear what you guys think... :)

Change "trilogy of books" to "trilogy of comic book mini-series", and I'll agree 110%.

Last web series/tv show seen
Time

I've lately gotten the irresistable urge to rewatch The X-Files, and over the past week I voraciously ate through the first season.

Beyond the fact that I really like the first season -- the lack of comedic episodes notwithstanding -- I haven't much more to say. I suppose I'll just end this post with a list of episodes I consider the best and worst of the season.

BEST EPISODES

"Beyond the Sea"

"Pilot"

"Deep Throat"

"Squeeze"

"Tooms"

WORST EPISODES

"Space"

"Gender Bender" (The majority of this episode actually wasn't bad. The ending, however, is incredibly, blatantly, weak.)

Still it does say something about how good The X files was i think that these problems that would kill most shows for me didn't kill The X Files.  I still love the show and just wish certain things had been done a little better but over all it is still one my favorite shows.

I think the strength of the series lies in the characters. As lame as some of the stories of the later seasons often became, Mulder, Scully, Skinner, Krycek, Gigarette Smoking Man, X, the Lone Gunmen, etc. were all perfectly developed and executed that it was a joy just to watch the episodes for them alone.

In hindsight, they probably should have

A. Had Scully become significantly less skeptical of the paranormal somewhere around Season 3/5.

or

B. Written some (more?) episodes where apparent paranomal activities were hoaxes/misidentified natural phenomena/etc. to help justify her unwavering skepticism.

Of course, I don't mind Scully's hardline skepticism all that much, silly though it gets at times. My pet peeve with the series is with how poorly the mytharc was developed and executed.

Oh I just heard from my best friend and he said that completely by chance his dad got these exact same cables this week and just like in my case they set his hard drive on fire,so avoid these things people!

What i want to know is what are the odds that we would both get the same cables the same week and have the same problem?  This is getting X files level strange now people.

As I much as I enjoy the X files, that's a huge problem I have with it... Mulder treats every mundane coincidence as if there were a conspiracy involved.

upon hearing this, I am quite glad I never got into that show. Definitely not my cup of tea.

If it's any consolation, Scully's the skeptic of the team, so she's always there to balance out Mulder's crackpot theories with more rational explanations.
