I just woke up from the strangest dream I have ever had.

I dreamed that Frank Miller had framed another comic book writer for his murder as an "April fools day joke" and when charges were pressed I was forced to hear every detail of the case because I was selected for Jury duty and then the defense used All Star Batman and Robin as proof that Miller was insane and shouldn't go to prison.

I swear this all happened in my dream.

My brain scares me some times.

Not as weird as the dream I had a few days ago where I ate a heart-shaped chocolate laced with LSD and suffered a bad acid trip. I mean, really -- experiencing hallucinations in a dream? Talk about totally redundant.

Nothing Matters Anymore. Climate Change/Global Warming Will Drive Humans To Extinction In A Matter Of Decades

Maybe if a significant portion of the scientific community shared your pessimistic appraisal, I'd take you seriously. As it is, though, you -- and probably a small number of other Chicken Littles running about the dark bowers of the 'Net -- are the only one saying Earth'll become a second Venus will a few short decades, so I'm not going to take this -- or anything else you say, for that matter -- as anything more than nihilistic hysteria.

What do you HATE about the EU?

I've never liked this story:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Shadows_and_Light

Only a few years have passed since the end of the Great Sith War, and we already have Jedi clinging to the "no attachments" rule? And not in a personal "I choose this path for myself" fashion, but in a dogmatic "to do otherwise would go against Jedi teachings" way.

There are worse examples out there of the TOTJ era being infected with prequelisms, but this story is the first one I became exposed to, and as such I hold a special loathing towards it.

The new Star Wars comics - a general discussion thread
Time

I've caught up reading the latest issues of the Darth Vader series, and I decided to make the third my final issue, at least in regards to this storyline.

I believe that if a storyline doesn't grab you by the third issue, it's likely you're not going to like the rest of it. Well, this comic isn't grabbing me; I find the art competent but boring, the writing flatter than a pancake, and the unending references to the PT irritating, so I'm calling it quits.

I've also been reading the Princess Leia series. In sharp contrast to the Vader series, I'm actually enjoying it thus far, the wonky "rounding up all surviving Alderaanians" plot and the unnecessary callbacks to the PT in the last issue aside. If it stays on-track, I may even end up accepting it into my personal canon by the time it's over.

So your god doesn't get off on it, he just doesn't give a shit.

First of all, I don't have a God. Though I'd like to believe in a deity, I haven't had any personal experiences to convince me that one exists, so I remain uncomfortably agnostic.

As for the not giving a shit part, perhaps that's true. Or perhaps God -- being an infinitely non-human entity far beyond our comprehension -- has concepts of good and evil, pleasure and pain that are completely alien to ours.

Gotcha.  Whatevs.  Bored as fuck now.

In other words, if God doesn't fit into a stereotypical caricature, you don't want to talk about Them. God either has to be a bloodthirsty tyrant or a hippie pacifist; any other concepts of God -- especially concepts of God that paint human mores as finite/trivial -- aren't worth discussing.
