The Random EU Thoughts Thread

It could just be a continuity mistake like the revenge of the jedi teaser poster, the star wars marvel comic issue #1 or that book where Luke gives Leia a sith red lightsaber as a present.

For christssakes, just because you don't like the idea of Leia having a red lightsaber doesn't make it a goddamned mistake!

If it was a single mention, yes, perhaps it could be considered a mistake. Every single time her lightsaber's colour is mentioned throughtout that storyline, though, it's described as "red", "ruby-coloured", etc.

Therefore it's NOT A MISTAKE.

Or as you imagine it also could be on purpose but it hardly matters because it is legends not Canon it does not need a retcon to explain.

Luke never fought Sedriss the Emperor never was reborn.

What random string of non-sequitur bullshit is this?!

I don't care a single damn about it being canon or Legends or any of that nonsense -- I just want to know which of the two versions of the drawing matches the one found in the book. The answer to that question is the same regardless of fantarded discussions on canon.

Original Trilogy: Luke's lightsaber color

I know I'm not the only one, but I wish we could actually finally see some yellow lightsabers in action onscreen, but I'm not holding my breath... I think Lucas' blue/green (or purple if you're one particular guy) = good / red = bad idiocy is too firmly entrenched in the popular imagination for Disney to ever find itself inclined to shake things up like that... Shame, really.

TCW shook up the status quo some by giving Ahsoka a chartreuse shoto alongside her regular green lightsaber, some Jedi Temple guards yellow lightsabers, one Jedi a white lightsaber, and Pre Vizsla his black lightsaber. Rebels seems to be carrying on the tradition, too, as there are pictures on the 'Net of Rebels-era Ahsoka wielding a pair of white/silver-blue lightsabers. So I'd say that the stupid RGB lightsaber colour scheme is slowly but surely being relaxed -- at least for Jedi characters.

STAR WARS: REBELS (animated tv series) - a general discussion thread

Call me superficial, but this image

has gotten me far more interested in the next season of Rebels than anything else. Ahsoka becoming a recurring character is nice enough, but seeing her with a pair of white/silvery blue lightsabers? *swoon*

Slowly but surely, it seems the franchise is moving away from the stupid RGB lightsaber colour scheme established by the PT and returning to the large spectrum that was commonplace prior to AOTC's release (at least in the case of Jedi characters). Here's hoping Rebels continues to (re)introduce more lightsaber colours and the ST follows suit.
