X-Men (2000) - 6/10

Most characters are criminally underdeveloped, especially Cyclops, the action scenes are mostly lacking (apart from a very fun sequence involving Toad), and it tries to be overly gritty even though the premise is ludicrous. The CGI has dated considerably as well. But that being said, I love the relationship between Wolverine and Rogue, and between Charles and Erik. I liked most of the movie, so I guess that’s enough to recommend it.

Someone shares my opinion haha! Overall I found X-Men to be pretty subpar, X2 was alright, X3 was awful, both wolverine movies weren’t much, first class is my favorite so far (still not amazing) and Days of future past was alright.

Iv just never been a big fan of this franchise.

I’m even harsher on it than you.

Humans are so predictable. I’m sure if you looked back through each of our post history, you would find a lot of similarities in sentence structure, opinions, styles, etc…

I recognize it in my own writing. To be honest, I get sick of the monotony of my word and phrase choices.

[JEDIT]

My use of “to be honest” above is a perfect example.

Yep, whiny brats who bitch about comic books that they’ve never read are privileged as all hell.

Why would I read that garbage? I’m an adult.

I didn’t think it was possible, but I’ve reached my limit with you. I used to think impscum was bad, but you’ve reached the point where you’ve justified everything he’s ever said of you.

You’re a bully – better than Darth Id, perhaps, but still a damned bully – and from this moment on, I’m not going to read a single post you make ever again.

Enjoy living in that small, Frink-centric universe of yours.

I think this is about as good a time as any to reiterate that I, personally, am not fond of highly sexualized images of women in comic books. Since the '80s/'90s, comic book women have become more and more “idealized” by the artists who draw them, all the way to the point where most of them look and dress like anorexic strippers with fake tits. I wish this would end, that superheroines/supervillainesses would be drawn with more diverse/realistic body types. If I were a comic book artist, I assure you this is what I would do.

But if anyone criticizes me – or anyone else here – of misogyny for posting a drawing of a woman – not because we like the way her body is drawn, but because we like the clothing she is wearing – I’m going to tell them to take their self-righteous, condescending bullshit and go straight to the Ninth Circle of Hell.

Lol, she wasn’t wearing clothing! She was a purple nude sticking her “titties and ass” out.

Yeah, continue your condescending missing-the-forest-for-the-trees schtick.
