I really want to read another book filled with wicked violence, repugnant sexual deviancy, and revolting situations but that still tells a fantastic story and has some fascinating message on the human condition.

I’ll bet DE has written several, minus the fantastic story and fascinating message on the human condition. 😉

Ha ha. It is to laugh.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an intelligently written yet extremely vulgar book? I really want to read another book filled with wicked violence, repugnant sexual deviancy, and revolting situations but that still tells a fantastic story and has some fascinating message on the human condition.

The only books I can think of that have the level of violence and degradation you want are the fictional bibles of the Jews and Christians. Either look at those or read the comments section on a political post on Facebook.

And all this time I thought you were an alright poster. Thanks for proving otherwise.

Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *

Porgs are revealed to merely be the protrusion into our dimension of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings who are actually bent on controlling the galaxy. The First Order and the Resistance reluctantly join forces to defeat them.

Rey and Kylo battle a giant Porg in the finale. Phasma returns only to be eaten by the giant Porg, who spits out her armor. Just when it seems they will lose to the giant Porg, Broom Boy™ saves the day.

Lando finally shows up at the very end, with a plausible explanation as to where the heck he’s been the past two movies.

Luke wakes up in a cold sweat safe and sound at his Jedi Knight school. The entire sequel trilogy revealed to be a bad dream. Millions of Star Wars fans take up hard drinking.

If that was to legitimately happen, I’d take back every bad thing I said about Disney, promptly watch TLJ, and become the biggest ST fan of all time.

I watched Season 2 over this past week. Overall, I don’t quite like it as much as the first. The running gag of Olaf fooling everyone with a flimsy disguise has worn thin by now. I’m not that taken with the darker tone, either. Now perhaps it’s just the writers staying faithful to the source material — I haven’t read the books yet, so I don’t know — but it rankles, regardless.

Those nits picked, the acting and direction and dialogue remain amazing.

★★★★★★★★☆☆

I only watched season one, but I didn’t care for this series. Olaf feels like a fan trying to do an impression of Jim Carry and failing. Pretty much every aspect of the movie works better in my opinion.

Sometimes I think you want to fail.

You’re just denying the fact that when Jim Carry’s Olaf is disguised, he’s genuinely frightening, but in this he’s just a silly TV villain. The kind whose “evil plans” of wasting water without paying for it are foiled weekly by those darn kids.

Strike that, reverse it. Neil Patrick Harris’ performance is inconsistent, but much of the time, I find his Olaf genuinely evil. Carrey’s Olaf’s about as creepy as Mr. Burns, and I like Carrey’s Olaf.

Agreed, I enjoyed the movie but the series (what I saw of it) was really bad. The little kids were so annoying.
