Watching S12E20 - Children of a Lesser Clod

who says there aren’t any great episodes past season 4/5/6?

Not me. I say there aren’t any great episodes past Season 11 (“Behind the Laughter” was the absolute last “classic” episode.).

And the only good part about “Children of a Lesser Clod” was the George Jetson bit.

Oh but you are wrong

"Say, listen, Doc, I got a new theory about all these suicides. Right?"

"Don’t hold back on us, Max. We need all the help we can get."

"It’s fucked up chromosomes, man. Think about it. All their parents dropped acid during the '60s."

"Well, it beats Simm’s theory. She thinks it’s nothing but sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll."

"Shit. That’s what keeps people alive."

But the Batman costume had a purpose behind it’s design. (and didn’t some of the late-'80s comics have a pure black outfit?)

Bats first got an all-black costume in the comics in the '90s.

Anyway I love the batsuit because it still embodies the comicbook feel.

I can live with it, but I still prefer the gray-with-black-trunks look.

Even separating the artist from the art, I hate Singer’s superhero films. I’m sure the “superhero costumes r stoopid” mindset has always been around, but I don’t recall it infecting the movies, television, and even the comics to any great degree before Singer got his hands on the X-Men. Now superheroes gotta wear “realistic” costumes with extraneous textures & buckles & zippers & straps & plates 'cause so-called creators & so-called fans have disdain/embarrassment for the source material.

I’m not embarrassed by comics, but I do think the costumes worn by characters from those comics would look pretty stupid on the big screen. Maybe we didn’t need black leather outfits, but I’d prefer that to the yellow spandex from the old comics.

YMMV, but I see nothing intrinsically stupid about these uniforms:

Admittedly, I wouldn’t mind more utilitarian boots & gloves, but the overall colours and design of the suits are just fine. Made with the right fabrics (NOT spandex) I think they’d translate to live-action quite well.
