STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I’d say it’s a night vision light thing.

Hunters have been using “red” flashlights to maintain their night vision for years. It could also be a “red alert” warning type light, or serve both purposes. Also, it IS bad ass looking! (KITT from Knight Rider, or Cylons from Battlestar anyone?) It always shocks me the kinds of things that bother people. Very surprised Adywan felt the need to remove the light from his version of Empire.

Harmy's Despecialized Star Wars 1977 - Color Adjustment Project for v2.7 (released)

For lack of time and better ability to go into this color issue at depth, I found a screen shot that should help me ask my question and make obvious what I was talking about a while back on Harmy’s thread. Has the green skew to the colors of the outside wall behind Luke been adjusted in this 2.7 version you’re putting out? In most of Harmy’s v2.5 shots, when you see that wall out there, it is fairly white, but other times it is obviously fairly green like what you see in the SE…

2.7

It shifts a bit in the GOUT edition as well. Kind of interesting.

Star Wars Trilogy SE bluray color regrade (a WIP)

Dr. Dre, just pulled these off the Force Awakens special features blu ray. You had mentioned concern at one point about R5-D4’s color starting to get into the orange instead of red, and I was thinking in my head he wasn’t supposed to be “blood red” like the GOUT but I had no proof at the time so I didn’t say anything. 😃 These shots are interesting to me especially since the sand and dirt are fairly neutral toned.

Star Wars Episode III: Labyrinth Of Evil (Released)
Time

OK… so I saw this film recently and I just wanted to say “THANK YOU!” I really didn’t understand how simply editing a film with pre-established shots could make it better but OMG!!!

Right out of the gate there is a change made at the end of the Dooku fight, which COMPLETELY changes the tone and feel of who Anakin is that A) Makes more sense, and B) Fits better with his character of Darth Vader in the future. (Trying to avoid spoilers by spelling it out!)

Your use of a deleted scene and reordering of the political intrigue… COMPLETELY fixes the “broken feeling” that Revenge of the Sith had. This feeling was so strong, I immediately told my wife that since said cut scene exists, that I’m honestly thinking there was a cut on the editing room floor that probably REALLY WAS much closer to this fan edit!!!

For example, I remember watching the moment when Anakin turns to the darkside in the theater very clearly for ROTS. And Palpatine basically says “The Jedi’s move will be to hunt us down and kill us.” Anakin says “I agree”. I remember it like it was yesterday because my brain screamed “THAT MAKES NO SENSE FOR ANAKIN TO AGREE TO THAT??? WHAT KIND OF HORRIBLE ACTING AND DIALOG IS THIS!??” But when I watched your version, same lines, SAME DIALOG… all of a sudden Hayden is “doing it right!” and it makes perfect sense!!! You’ve made Hayden a better actor!!! You’ve made him a better actor because his motives now makes sense!

LOVE THIS FAN EDIT!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Help: looking for... Where to find Star Wars SE 1997 Trilogy preservations...?

Well, Harmy did do the '97 Special Edition version of the original Star Wars, which you can be able to find on tehparadox. I wonder when he’ll do the Respecialized Editions of Empire and Jedi. 😕

Adywan did Empire and the colors are INSANELY good minues a couple of blown-out specular hightlights (2-4 seconds tops). Filename is “ESB 1997 SE 1080p Adywan.mkv” if that helps.

Wow, that looks really great.

For the faded Eastman prints, can you apply those settings to the entire reel and get as good of results?

That’s another question that needs answering.

Can you do similar tests on the (amazing vanishing) ESB Grindhouse release? Or is there not enough recoverable color information?

I’m on the road, but I will try to run some tests, when I get the chance. The Grindhouse should be easy compared to the red shifted TESB examples I posted.

Color corrected ESB Grindhouse would be THE BOMB!!! Your technology is amazing!

It’s fine. 😃 Here’s my adjustment. It needed a red boost in the darker tones, and I’ve made it a little brighter. Somehow the eyes look more alive with the boosted blue tones, compared to some of the earlier attempts, but I think this is the one for me:

Thank you for being opened minded to everyone’s input… this is looking outstanding.

Yikes… sunburn city. Are you trying to fight that “green tint” in the faces by adding the extra red? Maybe instead look for another way to fight it (like only desaturing that color, which isn’t green, it’s more like orange-green when it should be just peach instead.) But honestly, the last one you did before these looked fine (great even)… I didn’t even notice the green tint anymore unless I was zoomed in 800% on the skin pixels.

I’d also like to point out, since the “green blotches” keep popping up in the skin area, that those apparent blotches are natural fluctuations of skin tone. DeEd 2.5 had some real blotches, and some of Dre’s work in progress, but those “finalized” ones didn’t have any green issues in the skin tones.

The green is also apparent in Greedo’s “outer sleeve” with what, probably not coincidentally, is supposed to be a yellow/orange/peach color. In Verta’s shot you can see the right color, in Dr. Dre’s regrade it’s went quite green-ish there instead as well. I think it’s something that went wrong in the blu ray coloring… so when that horrible magenta is corrected out it’s still leaving small errors like for whatever reason, substituting peach for a green-tinted cyan throughout the film. If anyone can fix it I’m sure it’s Dr. Dre!

I’ve updated three shots. I think the others are fine as they are.

There is allot of crush in those notorious Blu-ray, dark Cantina shots [top: Blu-ray, bottom: picture dimmed w/crushed R-G-B’s hilighted] . .

. . which carried over into your regrade. I hope it doesn’t make them more problematic.

BTW, as much as I can make out on this lcd screen, your fine-tunings are looking great!

The vignetting is strong with this one…

P.S. There’s a shot around here of Lucas touching Leia’s chin… apparently he’s just a chin touching sort of guy!
