Believe me, I totally understand the honor amongst thieves thing. I've adhered to the same request to keep things to myself before. But I'm just curious as to why someone would take so much time and put so much care (it seems) into a really wonderful set and then not want it distributed?

Bizzle and I got our copies through the original creators. As far as sharing, I have inklings as to why they would not want to have these shared, but nothing official.

Like Bizzle, I also had strict instructions that no copies of this set were to be made, nor to mention who the creators were. Although I think it's a wonderful set and everyone should have it, it's not the wish of the creators. I find it more than a little lacking in consideration for someone not to honor that request.

With that said, yes, this set is really good. The isolated scores are nothing short of genius. Many loving hours went into doing these discs and it shows.

BTW, there's two revisions of the ANH disc for this set also. The other disc has different menus and options for the mono, Dolby Stereo and matrixed 6 channel.

Did anyone ever get around to torrenting the Making of... or SPFX docs?
Are you with me Dr. Wu^H^HGonzo

Actually, I just posted the first of two DVD-R's in alt.binaries.starwars. I made a two disc set with "Making of Star Wars" (Original version with The Fat Man narrating) and "SP/FX: The Empire Strikes Back" on one disc and "From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga" and "Classic Creatures: Return of the Jedi" on the other. They're taken from the Japanese LD's so there's permanent Japanese subs burned in. I'll be posting disc two on alt.binaries.starwars probably starting tomorrow. They've also been torrented in a couple of places.

The first Angrysun HS (@MySpleen) is from KCMO-TV5 in Kansas City, MO if that helps.

I've got that one. I also have one that's pretty nice from WBMR (Balitmore).

Can anyone tell me which version the SWHS on myspleen is? I'm looking to hunt down the second Angrysun version. It does not have the kenner commercials nor the muppet show. It is supposedly a much higher quality than that one.

I'm looking to replace my WMAR TV version I have (which is actually pretty good).

If anyone can let me know whcih version is up there, that'd be awesome.

Thanks!

Hi! THought I'd chime in with the real specs on this.

The player was a Pioneer CLD-990. I used a Sony DVMC-DA2 for Analogue to DV conversion. TMPGEnc was used for IVTC and MPEG-2 encoding. Sonic Scenarist was used for AC3 encoding and authoring. Menus done in Photoshop (of course). Easter Eggs: ANH - Blink182: A New Hope, ESB - Twin Sister: Scoundrel, ROTJ - CreativEngine: Darth Maul (He's My Friend and All). That's about all I can remember off the top of my head. It's been a long time ago now and a project that I originally intended for myself and some friends & family has grown to be common on the 'net. Pretty weird.

The new transfers are really looking outstanding and I'm very impressed with Zion's work. Amazing menus and some nice looking colors and clarity off of the "Faces" LD's.
