Yep the best way to preserve it is to spread it around, like when i take digital pictures i make multiple copies and even send a disc to some family members. The more people that have it the better the chances of it surviving the ages.

Nope it was a full degrain/regrain Lowry confirmed, it is just how they do things 

Oh ok i guess i misread what ever it was i was reading way back. That's interesting that they did that. I wonder what the original negative scan looked like compared to what they did. I don't think they did a horrible job though adding grain, it's pretty convincing.

I still love the grain in the Aliens blu-ray and would prefer that over the hd-tv broadcast. We just need to see how many clipped white scenes there are. I still enjoyed watching it in motion though and it never really bothered me. Though it would be neat to see the colors changed for the blu-ray.

So where is this 40th anniversary fan restoration of The Exorcist at?  Or is this whats on the blu-ray?

AVP-R  definitely needs to be brightened , i was always bothered by it when it came out on blu.

Why not have another version of Kill Bill, i like the idea and say do it.

Yeah you can really tell the pig head segment was dvd but the rest is excellent.

Actually the reels i received from Shawn were 5.1, even i thought they would be 4.0 but that wasn't the case. Maybe the software that converted them to waves added the other channels when it shouldn't have?

I take it this guy will be booted from here ASAP

I finished the cinema DTS that i got from Jetrell Fo and it syncs with the hd-dvd.

Wow there really is no difference with hd-dvd and LD other than color. I like the LD alot more though.
