Verbatim makes a good BD50, but you have to get the Japanese import, not the ones they sell in the U.S.

You should have asked.
I have VHS sourced subtitle synced to the Laserdisc rip. It’s all caps with a few errors (Slugcraft instead of Schlubcraft, etc.).
I also have a raw rip from the current HBO on demand version. It doesn’t sync to any release, has caps and lowercase, has none of the errors present in the webrip subs (‘It should be to Diana’ instead of ‘A tribute to Diana’, etc.), but matches the censored dialog.
Let me know if you need them.
The devil worshiping for me comes across as stupid (and the child swapping), but the worst problem is a dead character appears after their death. That’s just amateur editing.
As far as editing down the extended cut, there are problems with the colors that don’t seem to be correctable from the BD source. Also, IIRC, there are alternate shots in the extended cut. You would still need pieces that just aren’t present on the BD.
Edit: You know what… never mind.
You probably will be happy with: https://www.amazon.com/Verbatim-BD-R-Blu-ray-Recordable-Media/dp/B00GSQ4DBM/
Now if you need BD-50 discs, that’s another conversation.
Them video Previews look flawless But I’m confused Some people are asking download links to these… I mean are they completed or is it still work in Progress? Thanks
Yes.
A quick search of my old VHS subtitles:
00:21:01,930 --> 00:21:03,898
GOD DAMN IT.
00:21:06,434 --> 00:21:09,370
IT AIN’T NEITHER
NO GOD DAMN CHOKE.
00:21:23,785 --> 00:21:27,454
AND BRING BACK
THESE GOD DAMN GREMLINS.
01:15:40,938 --> 01:15:42,805
LIKE SOME
GOD DAMN ANGEL.
There is only one fuck, but ‘God Damn’ is either muted or redubbed as “gol-dern” four or five times.
I keep meaning to watch the two sources side by side and listen for other redubs or even censored video. I don’t expect any of the latter, but gol-dern?!
It’s been a while since I’ve bought blank BD’s. When I last got Verbatims I know you had to be careful of the disc ID and who actually manufactured it for them.
I believe you are looking for a disc ID of VERBAT-IMe-000.
Anyone have current info on that?
It’s the ‘F… that saved the world’. It’s near the very end of the movie.
You should know that the HD stream rip that is floating around is censored to remove all swearing from the f-word all the way down to ‘God Damn’.
Even HBO’s current broadcast version is censored which is pretty damn funny since it’s their movie.
What we really need is a raw rip of LD audio to fix THAT.
It probably is already common knowledge, but Arrow Film is releasing an official three Blu-ray Waterworld with some sort of reconstruction of the Ulysses Cut.
Holy crap! Did the movie really look like that in theaters? That’s nuts.
How did you know what should be ‘flashing’? Hod did you know what changes to make and how did you do it?
The Sunflower scenes need someone with skill at color correcting and cleaning up a raw film scan. Any idea what the source was?
I looked in on 'Spleen again and saw this edit IS there with just under a dozen seeders. It’s called 30th Anniversary Edition which is why I didn’t see it before.
It looks like What.Cobbler? hasn’t been around in 10 years.
Anyone know if he is on a different forum having the exact same conversation we are?
$717,700? At least the shipping is free.
So the new release identical to the PhilFrog minus the Kermit voice over? That’s not nearly as bad as I expected.
One user review I saw does rate the picture quality as ‘meh’ though.
I does sound like it could be a good source for a restoration, just some audio patching and done.
There are several versions on MySpleen including original recordings and reconstructions.
Funny thing. I had found the soundtrack several years back and I have no idea what the source was. It even has Born in a Trunk. Now I wish I asked questions.
Edit: Wait. Are you saying the Philfrog version is no longer anywhere? I just checked a couple of the usual places and I don’t see it.
If the new release is another dud, I’ll have to do something about it.
I can’t wait to see some reviews.
Of course I wouldn’t be surprised if they cropped the left and ride sides of the cropped-to-widescreen version.
I’m just chuckling that you are still working on these. Will you be working on the scene where they are wiring the bridge to explode too? I was always sorry that wasn’t finished.
This still exists. While I stand by the creative choices I made in this edit, there is no denying that the audio and video quality of JJPotter’s extended cuts are superior and are my current preferred version.
You could give iuVCR a try. I used to use that when I had a capture card. It’s a bit old but you could choose Lagarith. http://www.iulabs.com/iuvcr/
There’s also a newer iuVCS from the same people, but I’ve never tried it: http://www.iulabs.com/iuvcs/index.shtml
Also, VirtualDub used to have capping capability.
Consulting my copy of FBaWtFT, I’d guess the flying bug is a Billywig.
Btw, this edit is very good. (Of course Rowling is crap with screenplays and David Yates should have stuck with directing TV, but none of that is JJPotter’s fault.)
Edits are invisible, video quality is VG, and audio is stereo and upmixes well via DPLII. A couple scenes have unfinished effects, but not terribly so.
(Which I hadn’t actually gotten to testing yet.)
