Help with Adywan's Episode V Color Corrected 1080p DVD
Time

Ok, so i downloaded Ady's Ep. 5 1080p dvd, and i put it in DVD shrink to compress it onto a 4.7 GB DVDR, just like I did with his ANH Revisited (I'm not worried about losing menus, all I need is quality and the movie itself, which I got perfectly last time with Revisited)

Now, when I try to put the file into DVD shrink, by doing Open Files or Open Disc Image, this message pops up:

Failed to open file "C:\Users\Dylan\Downloads\Star Wars EP V Colour Corrected Adywan AVCHD\VIDEO_TS.IFO

Now I'm no expert on computers, but I'm guessing I'm somehow missing the VIDEO_TS folder or file? All the files downloaded completely on the torrent so I don't know what the problem is.

Any help/suggestions?

I say for the ultimate Blue-Ray release:

2 discs per movie, Original uncut with alterenate tracks and that stuff and selection for ANH on the crawl for Ep.4, and the other being the final version with everything fixed, EVERYTHING

and a bonus disc with a documentary or whatever, trailers for all of it and deleted scenes, hi-def deleted scenes, or as good as they can get

Well, idk what can be done to ANH after Adywan, I guess some effects that look a little off, or changing Vader's voice to match Ep 5 & 6 (that always annoyed me) but there are some things I don't nessacarily like, like the planets added to the Death Star reveal (even though i LOVE the new opening) and the new background canyon for the shot of R2 rolling down the valley (just looks too much like Ep.2 and doesn't look real enough to me, i loved the special edition version) but other than that...i relly dont know. Ady did a much better job than Lucas or any of his yesmen could ever do

The Special Edition wasn't needed.

the SE...o boy. It definatly wasnt needed, but I gotta say i did like the replacement CGI, i just wish they wouldve replaced it all and not just a couple of shots in ANH. and good replacements, not all the ships having a blue R2D2 and stuff like that. The things like where they add on to the movie, like adding new shots of Luke and Ben going into the spaceport and making it a huge city like place is definatly not needed, or wanted. Originally it looked like a barren rock, adding onto why Luke wanted "to teleport off that rock" but the SE made it seem like, o look! Giant dinosaurs with lil dudes riding them almost stepping on ppl who don't seem to notice them (seriously look at those shots, NO1 notices them, and some almost get crushed by the CGI dinos) and getting hit by bikes, why would Luke ever wanna leave!? If he just fixed up the space battles, quality, and SOME minor changes to things like stormtroopers with missing shoulder pads or a soldier looking like hes firing a gun in the bakcground but no lasers coming out of the gun (ROTJ's full of these) and put them in a DVD with good quality and CORRECT colors and fixed sabers, in a box set with the original unaltered versions also with good quality made for HDTV's, then alot of ppl would be happy.

I'm all in favour of keeping the end sequence of ESB pretty much as it is.

This scene is IMO about as close to a Binary Sunset moment that ESB gets, and the galaxy shot has become fairly iconic of the mood.  Change the visual too much, and the original mood is lost.  As for astronomic accuracy, we must remember Star Wars is Science Fantasy, not Science Fiction.  We don't need Star Trek style explanations for every technology and phenomenon, and that IMO is one of the great differences between the two universes.  Whether we're looking at a star formation, the local galaxy viewed from the outer edge (rim?), bright matter circling an occluded black hole or a nearby galaxy viewed through some lensing effect of interstellar dust it doesn't really matter.  Though I'll freely admit I am rather fond of the Rishi Maze explanation (I feel it ties in with AOTC rather well on a subtle level, and is still plenty big for a fleet to 'hide' in).

If we do start down the dark path of fixing things that are implausible to current science, then even the Binary Sunset shot, where two nearby stars appear the same size and in close proximity from an orbiting planet, is in trouble.

Great point, i did always like the scene, i just think maybe the falcon should be looking like it's going IN the galaxy thing or whatever it is instead of just ranomly going off in a direction. Basically just minor changes r needed for the scene, which is the way it should be.

Hey im new to the forum but have seen Adywan ANH Revisited and I gotta say I love it.This 1 looks like its gonna be like 10 times better.

Anyways, 1 thing thats always bothered me, in the scene with Boba and all those aliens on Vader's ship, one of the officers says "Those rebels wont escape us" and his mouth doesnt move at all. Also in the scene where Han is put into the carbonite 2 of the stormtroopers have there shoulder pads on wrong. 1s on the left side of the screen in the 1st shot standing next to Vader, the other 1s walking with Chewie and all them, his shoulder pads on his like elbow, wonder if you can fix this...anyways theres my contribution. haha

PS oh and to the TIES firing different rates, i always thought they just updated the ships, like in ROTJ they have new ones with different wings, i always thought theyd update em every year or so
