Terminator 1 & 2 Projects (Released)
Time

It has been a busy holiday season for me but I finally have time to post my thoughts on these 2 projects. While I was waiting for these to arrive I was anticipating the menus and I can now that I have reviewed the discs these menus are OUTSTANDING!!!!! They have been designed as a motion menu and upon start up they have been set up with a diagnostics check list similar to a T-800 then moving on to a Cyberdyne logo. The rest of the team has pulled out all the stops on these 2. I only had these 2 on DVD before this and the picture and audio quality is a dream on these!!! Along with the small amount of excellent special features, (which, themselves have been perfected for these releases) T1 and T2, TeamBlu have knocked it out of the park......AGAIN!!!!

DJ, You_Too, & Deathcab…I congratulate you again on your triumphs and encourage you keep up the great work!!!

Thank you so much for that nice little write up vadertyme, we all really appreciate it very, very much, but I have to add 1 person here, do not forget about our "Menu Guy" without him we would not have all these fancy menu's with great extras, so a huge thanks to him as well when he reads this.

So thank you again for all your support and help.

I think I may have misinterpreted Deathcabs post when he reviewed Maximum Overdrive and thought he was pulling double duty.  I definitely don't want to leave anyone out lol...so a special congratulations to "The Menu Guy", the movie clips on the main menu were a nice touch and really speaks to how much Team Blus projects continue to evolve in excellent ways.

-VT

My apologies. I didnt mean to take anything away from our menu guy. He is an integral part of TeamBlu. I just help out with ideas, etc for menus and he is the one, like DJ said, that puts it all together and makes them flawless and beautiful.

I received my copy of Maximum Overdrive yesterday. This was my most anticipated TeamBlu release thus far for me and it has not disappointed!!!! I have yet to watch the entire film, but I reviewed everything.

When I started a while ago brain storming for this project I hit a lot of road blocks (pun intended) menu wise. Do I go retro? Flashy? Simple? etc. I tried a variety of different things to try and come up with something that reflects the feel of the film. Ultimately, we decided to go with a main motion menu with chains and metal plates that house the title, buttons, features etc. and this turned out phenomenal!!! My initial idea and design for this was taken by the team and tweaked to be something I couldn't imagine! When the menu, background video and the thumping bass and drum opening of Who Made Who starts up you know you are in for one hell of a ride with this disc!!!!
With the special features, the team has assembled an outstanding collection. We have the theatrical trailer hosted by the man himself Stephen King. The music of AC/DC, which is individual tracks that DJ expertly put to their respective scenes from the film. Up next is an audio only interview with the Young brothers talking about how they came to meet Stephen King. When you listen to this, there is a slideshow of various posters, international posters, VHS covers, etc to view. Rounding out the SP is a Fangoria issue scan which looks beautiful and very easy to read on screen (I have yet to read it). What DJ and the others were able to pull together for special features on a movie that had, really, nothing out there, is mind blowing!!
A few weeks ago I watched Maximum Overdrive on netflix and after watching this disc for just a few minutes last night, I can honestly say that the PQ on this blows netflix out of the water!!!! Everything is crisp and clear. On the audio front, what can I say, I am a sucker for DD5.1 and it's booming!
I don't have any pictures of the overall package, but I will update this post when I do.
Final words - If you are a fan of this movie, you NEED this release!! Bottom line!!

Another teaser,

A little info about this cover. DJ asked me to do this a little while ago. I racked my brain trying to come up with some thing for it. I think I had 2 or 3 front covers that just didn't work. Image elements for this were very hard to come by and sometimes when I am coming up with covers I start with something I think of and the cover goes in a complete different direction and that is what happened with this one. I kept digging for images and elements and I had a bit of help from a couple different posters and covers for layout only and I am very happy with how this finally turned out. A few tweaks and adjustments but that is always the case with me. Lol

Sheena 1984 *RELEASED*
Time

I remember seeing this as a kid. As I worked on this project with the team I just got more and more eager to watch it again, lol. While I did not watch the whole movie (yet) I sampled the disc and I am blown away at the work that the rest of the team has done. Picture quality is outstanding and the PCM audio is my favourite so far. The small collection of special features do not disappoint.

Another OUTSTANDING release!!!!

The White Buffalo 1977 (Released)
Time

Got this in the mail last night. I had a chance to look it over but I haven't watched the entire movie yet. I am really happy with the way this came out given what sources were available. Picture quality is excellent in my opinion and the audio was booming!! Especially during a few action scenes I sampled.

Very happy with this being one of my first full projects with Team Blu.

Thanks VT for adding the pic of the "black" cover and for being a huge supporter for the Team!

No problem, DJ...you guys make it easy to be a supporter.

I also wanted to take a moment and give Deathcab a proper shout-out.  The cover and lobby cards on this project are excellent and look even better in person.  Keep up the good work, man.  Really digging all of your WIP covers on the upcoming projects.

-VT

Thanks VT. Really appreciate the shout out. I am glad you liked the lobby cards, they really added to the overall set.

Hi Deathcab6366,

Congratulations on the awesome coverart worK! Keep them coming

And I also have a suggestion / request. Could you please make matching covers for other titles of the same franchise. Studio covers usually suck and they don't use original poster art for the moves.

I mean, Fright Night, for example, would be my most wanted. But one for Conan the Destroyer would be very nice also.

I know I am not Deathcab but for right now we do not have any time at all to make custom covers of already retail release BD's, sorry, we are just to darn busy.

I'm sorry but dark_jedi is right, we have no time with all the projects we have on the go. All my focus is on Team Blu projects and it will be that way indefinitely.

Hey guys,

Got my copy today and I cannot give enough praise for this release!! It was amazing to watch all the trailers and to read the Fangoria articles (for the first time ever.) Seeing the final product for this project has got me on cloud 9 and has me itching to do more!

This is the first project that Team Blu has done that I have been involved with from the beginning and it has been a blast! I am excited to be working with these guys and that they have welcomed me into the fold. We have some great upcoming projects that I am excited about and I will continue to bring these covers to life for all the Team Blu projects.

Stay Tuned........

We have some great upcoming titles and I am extremely happy to be a part of Team Blu. Thank you for the great response to the WIP covers. All that is need is tech specs, special features and probably some minor adjustments at some point. I really enjoy making these covers, especially since they are accompanying such wonderful pieces of work from the rest of the team.
