.. if you want more modern Terminator 3 SPFX then please continue.

Funny you should mention that, because I was thinking about how the hand would be a lot more convincing if it were a bit "meatier."

I like the idea that there is organic tissue covering the bionic hand........I'd love to see Adywan add in some pseudo-terminator blood like I demonstrated.

When the 'skin flap' of  Luke's artificial arm is closed by the Medical Droid, it doesn't line up with the little portion of 'fake arm' underneath the metal 'clamp' that we can  see nearest the robe sleeve. Could this be amended?

There are actually two different shots of this 'fake' arm, seperated by a shot of Luke's face.  They are both static shots, but shown at a very slightly different angle to each other.

A - Luke's 'New' hand gets poked by a little prick. (The flap on the far side looks crooked)

B - Luke gives his 'New' hand a little test run.

Not debating that it's a lift that Luke and Vader came up in, but clearly the enormous shaft the emperor falls into isn't just to accomodate a 2 man lift...

...

...The big central tube running down the middle is the damn lift shaft... [If] anyone cares to post pictures from the scene it will be patently clear that Vader drops the Emperor down the hole at the side of the lift. Ergo, it's a lift shaft.

And the glow at the bottom is not the reactor core. Unless you're suggesting this lift runs 450km down to the core and the Emperor falls all that way in about six seconds.

The ANH:SE Redux Ideas thread (Radical Ideas Welcome).

I think that ANH needs an "Enhanced Edition" that fixes errors in the Theatrical version, as well as the countless errors of judgement from the 2004 editions.

Didn't some guy already do that? I forget his name...but I know there's a thread about it somewhere. I think there's also a thread about what can be done after his so-called "Revisited" version. Now, if only I can remember his name!

;)

Nice one! I don't even think any video changes would have to be made. The first line can stay as-is because we can say he's just seeing a huge canyon (which he might've been able to hide in even if there wasn't a cave), then just delay his "that'll do nicely" line for a second until they come over the ridge. I'm sure someone could do it even though it might mess up the timing of the audio or something.

I agree. Just cut out the bit between "There...that looks pretty good.", and "That'll do nicely.". Perfect fix. End of problem. :D

I particularly hate the Immaculate Conception idea.

What immaculate conception?  I always figured Shmi just got really drunk at a frat party, got knocked up, and didn’t remember the encounter.

Maybe Shmi was gang-banged, and Ani is a combination of many 'fathers'.

.........I'd write more details, but I would probably get banned if I did. ;)

Making our own 35mm preservation--my crazy proposal
Time

Thorr, if it could be done that easily, it would have been done already.

You're talking about a HELL of a lot of time, effort, work, and hard-drive space. The framing/positioning of every frame would have to be absolutely perfect, and that's hard enough to do with a hand full of frames...nevermind almost 15000 of them !

So, in short........you're crazy. :D

I have no reason to believe just enhancing the speed of Ben's twirl a bit isn't feasible.

I just don't think the MOVEMENT of the spin is convincing enough. Sure, speed it up, but it still would look like an old man tip toeing in a circle...

Since the PT came out, the Obi Wan duel has bothered me even more...

... the weak spin still pulls me out of it. If I ever get to do my own edit of ANH, I would be removing that spin!

Removing the twirl (2 seconds) can be done seemlessly, and frankly it's no big loss.
